Eagle to hire 600+ in 2013!
#321
I have commuted to 3 bases and lived in 2 of our bases. My time at Eagle living in base was a MILLION times better than my time fighting commuting, day trips, 2 day trips.. life is EASY.. bidding for monthly schedules is less stressful, trip trading is easier, OT is easy, so many hours not wasted traveling to and from work, if something cancels, you go home for the night instead of buy a hotel, everything is just vastly easier.. reserve is still bad regardless, no way around that, but it's better if you live in base, with many more options to increase QOL and potentially just stay home.. I have tried fighting with commuting again and again, because I really dislike living in the current Eagle bases, but best advice if you want to be happy at this job:
DON'T COMMUTE!
It makes regional life suck. It is an absolute night and day difference.

Do not commute. Great example: lost my overnight last night, no biggie. Drove home and slept next to my wife. Way better.

Check every corner of the application, make sure you're not leaving anything out of it. If in doubt, ask here!
It would be frustrating to lose a job because paperwork don't match.
If they are inviting you to a interview, you have the qualifications and the job is yours unless you screw it someway.
Do copies of every paper you fill invade they need more than one.

About screwing paperwork up, logbooks, etc. They require 250 PIC. I have that but a good portion is dual rec'd PIC. Airlineapps only let's you out your actual PIC time in their grid. Has anyone showed up with two different PIC totals and got booted from the interview?
Also, and news on the AQP program? Is it up and running?
