I cold called them after I declined a class date with eagle and they told me I'd have to interview again. Not a problem got set up for an interview after they saw I hadn't accumulated any skeletons since I declined their class date.
Since they're hurting for people to interview calling might get you back on the radar?

Thanks for the info. Trying to decide if its the right move or not. Interviewing would never hurt. Big question is if a lack of jet time is a significant problem for getting onto a major. I have about 2000 PIC Turbine but only 100 in jets. Would be a tough pay and lifestyle change.

Well this is what we are being told;
From the VP of FLT OPS
" Eagle is on track to execute on our own business plan, which projects the replacement of our smaller jets with larger ones. We are working closely with American and the aircraft manufacturers to put together a comprehensive plan to access these large regional aircraft. These conversations with aircraft manufacturers are active and ongoing. A firm end date for these discussions has not been established, but they are a high and active priority for our leadership.
Most importantly, there will be no base closures or flight crews furloughed as a result of this agreement. As many of you already know, we are currently hiring, and will continue with our plan to hire 400-500 pilots in 2013."
From the CEO
"American’s business plan calls for increased use of even more large regional jets and Eagle is on track to achieve our own business plan, which projects the replacement of our smaller jets with larger equipment. Furthermore, we are working closely with American and the aircraft manufacturers to put together a comprehensive plan to access these large regional aircraft."
From the Union
"This RFP award is a piece of AMR’s plan of reorganization and does not impact the fleet plan for American Eagle. We have expressed to senior management numerous times over several months that it must communicate to Eagle pilots the fleet plan that they have shared with your MEC under non-disclosure agreements during the bankruptcy negotiations. Although management is in discussions with aircraft vendors regarding this fleet plan and has informed us that it cannot say anything publicly about Eagle’s fleet plan at this time, our hope is that management will be able to communicate this with you in the next one to two months."
Well at least everyone is on the same page

Quick question about the $5,000 signing bonus. Is there a buyout fee, like Republics $20,000 or would you just return the $5k if you left withing 2 years?
If so, is the $5k pro-rated?

From another board:
MEC Officer Malfeasance
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It appears that Tony Gutierrez and Dave Ryter, the EGL MEC Chairman and Vice Chairman, have been intentionally witholding information from elected MEC members.
Mr.Ryter admitted as much in a recent email to LEC83 CA Rep Val Jester. Mr.Ryter told Jester that there are "leaks" in the MEC; so that he and other MEC members can not be trusted with information.
There is no idea how long the MEC Chairman and Vice Chairman have been witholding information from elected MEC representatives.
These MEC representatives are charged with acting in our best interest based upon all available information. It now appears that our elected representatives have been intentionally denied timely information, by Ryter and Gutierrez, upon which to base their decisions so they could vote in the best interest of their pilots.
It appears that the failure to provide timely information was intentional by them. This may have denied the pilots of the effected bases their right to fair representation.
What's even more alarming is the fact that Ryter states in his email that he will essentially continue to withold information from them. This effectively prevents a large portion of the elected MEC members from performing their duty of representing their pilots.
What is happening can be boiled down to this. The company provides certain information to the union. Mr Ryter and Mr Gutierrez are accepting the information of behalf of the union. At that point, instead of passing the information to the elected MEC officers, Dave Ryter and Tony Gutierrez are denying the information to several specific MEC elected officials. This denies the MEC elected officers the ability to fairly and fully represent the pilots. It allows the company to provide timely notification of events, but denies our elected leaders the ability to respond in a fully informed manner.
There is no way of determining how long they have been doing this; and the email from Ryter clearly states his intention to continue to withold information. The LEC83 CA Rep Val Jester has indicated he will accept calls from anybody wishing more information.
Due to the witholding of information by Gutirrez and Ryter the pilots were not provided with full and fair representation. There is no idea how much information was witheld, for how long it was witheld, or if information is still being witheld. There is also the question if Ryter will fall on his sword for Gutierrez and claim he didn't tell him the information too.

More importantly, what's the TPIC in? Caravan, PC12, BE99? If so, that time won't help too much when it comes to a major.

(Woops, Slats beat me to the punch. Oh well, I'll say it anyway)
2000 PIC Turbine in what kind of aircraft and operation is the real question. There are thousands of pilots out there with Part 121 Jet PIC who currently fly for Regional airlines who this person will be competing with. If the goal is to get on with a Major, then I'd say yes, this person needs to find work with a Regional and start building the jet time in a 121 operation - all the while, of course, applying to every Major airline out there.
