I think the RJ course may build your confidence, but isnt really necessary to pass your checkride. If you really feel you'd be better off see if one of the regionals will pay for it. I certainly wouldn't spend my money on it. The regionals know how to get you through. Try using the FlightSim and do the old ASA interview profile. Take off and climb to 5,000 at 250KIAS, both in the climb and on the level off. Do a series of steep turns to the left and right. Then climb to 8000 again at 250 KIAS including level off.
Next, practice intercepting a radial, track it inbound and then give yourself every holding configuration. Be sure to slow to the proper holding speed 3 minutes prior. Then do a few approaches both precision and non-precision.
Once you have done that, review your track and improve on the areas that need it.
Once you get to training, you'll have a good scan. Remember, these instructors have trained hundreds of students. They will help you get through if you have the right attitude and the willingness to work.
Also they will task saturate you to get you used to multi-crew environment. It's all part of the process.
Good Luck.

I moved from a C-172 and Aztec into the E-145. I had experience with different type of cockpits and that didn't prevent me to bust my first PC at eagle due to lost of scan in my single engine ils.
I was always on top of the game in all the sims (never failed one), didn't failed the phase check or struggle with anything.
So it's important to practice the scan and be on top of it.
Once I learned leave the emotions behind and concentrate in what we do, fly things started to go easy.

Things don't appear to be going well. Looks like everyone who can abandon ship should probably be considering it:
Fellow Eagle Pilots:
Last week your MEC met to consider a response to management's request for concessions in return for increased flow obligations and a commitment to put the EMB 175's on our property. The meeting resulted in a framework that was used to craft a counter proposal to management’s request. We delivered that counter last Saturday which started negotiations intended to achieve an agreement that would satisfy the expectations and perspectives you have provided to the MEC over the last several weeks.
We've reached the point where the MEC needs to weigh in and decide if an agreement can be struck or whether we've reached the end of negotiations. The meeting will convene at 1:00 today. The MEC will receive a presentation from the negotiating committee on what we've come up with and will include the MEC leadership, the negotiating committee, and the members of the MEC. Following the presentation, MEC members only will meet in executive session to allow them to debate our next move without any interference or distractions.
This is a challenging and stressful process for all of us. The MEC has worked overtime the last several weeks to gather your input and perspective. Your participation in this process has been critical in allowing the 10 members of the MEC to confidently direct our efforts. Now that input will be used to determine our future.
Thank you for your patience. We will put out an update as soon as we have more information.
Fly safe.

Eagle to hire 600+ in 2013!
Going back to the threat prior to Christmas concerning not traveling home after a sick or fatigue call mid trip. Has it happened to anyone? Anyone get denied travel and stuck in base? Or just empty threats?

The "no-travel without AA medical-clearing' went nowhere after the initial rumbling from one of the chief-pilot offices late last month. There appears to be no additional pressure in that regard. If you're sick, recognize that and act accordingly. When you are well and able to return, just clear your sick like normal. If you need to travel/commute while sick, request permission as well. Just like we use to.
I'm guessing it was threat right before xmas to scare people from calling sick for xmas while at work after their awesome TA announcement.

Management wants to do a lot of things, I am sure you specifically could spew up quite a few of them. However, until any of them are happening in the present it's all...fluid. Take PBS for example.
