There is nothing pointing towards anyone furloughing in the near future. Are you all saying that if APA came to you wanting to staple the whole Eagle group you would say no?

That seems a little short sighted.
apa does not do anything against the interest of the pilots it is representing at the time of negotiations. so yes I would say NO. Why should I say yes, we have basically all pilots here eligible to transfer to aa with every new hire class, so what do I gain by being stapled at the bottom.

Because you get a number NOW. Not 5-8 years from now. That will equate to hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars on the back end.

If you get hired at AA you get put on the bottom anyway.

This company is shrinking I doubt we'll be hiring.

Buddies do you not understand how seniority works? If you wait for your flow you'll have thousands of guys senior to you likely for the majority of your career. A staple job puts us there now, meaning less people senior to you.

More senior = more money and qol

A staple job is an absolute no brainer for us.

it was a loaded question waiting for someone who knows nothing about this industry. ask the guy who got furloughed for 5 years when he/she comes back what they get. they go exactly where they were. 1st, 2nd or 3rd year pay, the pay they had when they left. no benefits accrual either. your number wont accrue anything as one who actually is on property working. but since you will be on the bottom when you get furloughed go see how much you can get for that number on the open market, zero.

by the way they would still be hiring off the street while you a frozen on a five year fence living under the POS contract. It takes 8 - 10 years to make up wha tyou lose over 5 years. 13-15 years just to break even.

but you will sell out for a few pennies, it is written all over you.

I wouldn't normally defend pagey but nothing he said was about selling out. If APA wants to staple us and bless whatever deal we make with Eagle management we'd be insane not to take it. You can be furloughed anywhere, and in case you haven't been paying attention your chances of getting furloughed from Eagle are exponentially higher than getting furloughed from AA.

You're telling me you're willing to give up thousands of seniority numbers and potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars over the lifetime of a career because AA may furlough? That's beyond foolish, better not cross the street anymore, you may get hit by a car.

Edit: Just saw you added some numbers about money. Are you saying AA would furlough you because they stapled you, then hire off the street without recalling you? How exactly would that happen? 5 year fences? What are you talking about?

no, I said while stapled with a five year fence where you are and that would be short duration, they would be hiring off the street. unless you have an agreement for seniority accrual for biding, pay and benefits all you have is a number. It will be the same as flow through guys, a number, no pay or benefits accrued until on aa metal (aa on the side not ae).

What you're saying isn't really a seniority staple, you're essentially describing our current flow through. Of course we wouldn't vote that in.

Getting your number as an APA pilot now, and then flowing/bidding to larger equipment means you could be skipping reserve right out of training. Flowing under your current program, that won't happen. That's just one example. How about if they ever furlough? Get your number now and you may stay employed. Wait for your flow program, enjoy Home Depot.
