Interviewing on the 16th if I can get of this #*)ing oil rig.
(currently working as an engineer for oil company)
If I am unable to get off this platform, what is the best way to explain that to AE?
Just call and say I'm stuck on an oil rig because my relief broke his leg and I'm stuck out here til next year unless my boss conjures up a fresh engineer (looking more unlikely by the day)?
I was supposed to be back in Denver on the 12th, have a couple days at home before flying to Dallas.
Work says they are getting me off this rig, but I'm kind of losing faith in that daily.

Again, tell them your situation and they will reschedule your interview and travel.

So how many pilots have been hired year-to-date 2013?
Are their classes filled?
What are their hiring plans for 2014?

Can anyone help me with trying to get a call over at Eagle. I am currently flying 91/135 out of IAH but our aircraft is in maintenence for the rest of dec. and I would like to get out of the corporate world. Does anyone have any recruiter contacts that could maybe help speed the process up. Thanks
My current times break down 2350TT 1050 TPIC 1825 Turbine 1512 PIC Recommends would be welcomed as well.

Why don't you try for Skywest or XJET? They have bases in IAH. Heck even Republic. With your times and experience, even Spirit, Jetblue, etc. The situation at AE is on limbo right now. 100plus FO's have quit within the last 2 months if that doesn't say something.
No plan whatsoever and now with the merger being approved, we can expect Parker to tweak L-AE operations on the cheaper side. A one big company now with PSA.
Do your homework.

I interviewed recently and got a class date. Looks like they are running 2 classes a month (2 planned for Jan as far as i know). Now how many peeps are showing I have no idea.
The question is, how desperate are they to hire people? I feel like the hiring practices at Eagle are stuck in the 90's. I interviewed with 8 and 3 of us got the offer, of the 3 how many passed the captains review board I don't know beyond myself.
The interview is a real dog and pony show, and they kick people out for the smallest mistakes. Now I get it, they have high standards because they want excellent people in the seats, but to show so many qualified applicants the door so soon? Strange when they say they need warm bodies.
I know some people are dogging Mesa for phone interviews and email offers but if you have the qualifications shouldn't ground school/ sim training / IOE be the real interview? I think Mesa has an good strategy going on and it maybe the only way to get enough people online when mass hiring in necessary and supply is dwindling.
I guess what I'm getting at is I was less then impressed with the interview experience at Eagle. Don't get me wrong everyone was super friendly and I really enjoyed speaking with the line captains during my daylong event of sitting in a holding tank and fighting through red tape. It's 2013, and all that could have been done easily via facetime while I was sitting in a hotel on the road somewhere.
So for these reasons alone it doesn't surprise me that they didn't make 600 in 2013, the hiring practices alone just wont support that.

yes, sorry i wont be here for the positive changes for the other aa feeders and to aid you to manage the additional stress forthcoming to you all.
My answer is itr seems that the other feeders still get contracts at the same time being a poor operation. maybe we should emulate them and give the same poor performance, then maybe aa will give us also a 12 year per aircraft feed contract.

This is correct. After PSA's lowering the bar, the stage for L-AE and every other regional is set. Full pay til last day.
Big changes are coming alright. More threats and a huge carrot are coming, they will come with a price though…. Why ALPA doesn't want to speak up yet I don't know….
Stay tuned.

and maybe not delta for much longer, i hope.
notice how delta made alpa look good during a period of no negotiations scheduled but a new contract came about. Probably during arepresentation vote period. ALPA is worthless, there magazine is not even good for use in the lavatory.
