You will see some guys bail a few months after they get to Eagle and other will spend longer, there is no perfect formula.
If you have a decent amount of mil time all you really need is some recency and you'll get picked up. That's the industry, us 121 only guys are 2nd class and we always will be.

It's funny how you speak like you know something about this Bzzt.

The difference is that most 121 only people never try to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack. You become a regional pilot, fly couple thousand hours, maybe upgrade and get PIC and that's it. You look identical to the next guy.

The military guy has different training, maybe was safety officer or something that stands out. If you're 121 only and become check airman, instructor, management of some sort (think hiring department, fleet manager, safety department, etc), will you stand out.

You can also think outside the box and contribute any knowledge and experience to outside work or a business while flying.

The key is, how to stand out and differentiate yourself. It's obvious you're not that type of motivated guy and hence why you will likely get left behind because you sulk on this forum non stop.

You do realize that the jobs you speak of to make yourself "stand out" are pretty few right? The stark truth of the matter is the legacy airlines view mil time above civ time. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, it's just the way it is.

I, like everybody else does some volunteer work on the side, fly my trips, and wait for that elusive upgrade. There really isn't much else you can do besides go to all the job fairs. I hope you can get one of those management jobs or check airman positions and move on, it's a struggle for sure.

I do find it entertaining that you believe you can get ahead by hard work and "motivation". You do realize this is a union job right? You can only get ahead when the guys in front of you die.

As a 2300 TT, 2000 TPIC mil IP/EP who's at a regional, my observation thus far is that there is no "magic formula." Fill every container on the app that you truthfully can, network (job fairs, etc...), and stay positive.

My $.02. Still hoping for a call from a major...

Can anyone help me with trying to get a call over at Eagle. I am currently flying 91/135 out of IAH but our aircraft is in maintenence for the rest of dec. and I would like to get out of the corporate world. Does anyone have any recruiter contacts that could maybe help speed the process up. Thanks

My current times break down 2350TT 1050 TPIC 1825 Turbine 1512 PIC Recommends would be welcomed as well.

You would give up the right seat of a Hawker to go to a regional?

Be careful what you wish for.

I did it earlier this year. You'd be surprised with some of the operators out there in the 135 world. It's amazing how much better my QOL is now at one of the better regionals.

Any word on which a/c is more likely for the next class ?

They have been mainly CRJ New York for the past few hire classes but it can change. When classes were given a mix of ERJ and CRJ, CRJ went junior.

Can't find anyone who can actually confirm a 26 pilot new hire class. Most recent class was 6. I am starting to think that was a rumor.
