You are the only one with commuting problems, commuting issues are a new thing, nothing to see here... AE and AA has been a passing crew member for a good part of the year when they are unable to staff the flights because they needed bodies on base. Let me give you a hint, it's only going to get worse.

Understood, it is worse.. But for example, my reserve days this week.. I proffered for an easy trip with a day off in the middle.. Trip started on day one late afternoon and finished at 4 pm on the last day. Commuted in and out on work days. Like I usually do. Still possible for a junior person.. Not always but you know what I mean.

CDO's will make commuting for reserves cake. I loved those back when I was new. Come in way late evening.. Finish at 7 am on the last day. Love it. Some people hate them but I love them. Hang out in the city during the day.. Never fly.. You don't sleep much, but I never get much sleep at this job anyway. Just makes It like a part time job.

I do get where you're coming from bzzt. Trust me.. I know. Not arguing.. Just sayin..

In summary:

Me and 98% of people at Eagle are happy and living perfectly good lives while advancing our careers.

You can choose to join us, or spend the rest of your days trolling the internet listening to the likes of RjPilot/Bzzt and never moving forward.

Those miserable bastards get a kick out of being anonymous trolls on the internet while the rest of us are enjoying life.

Which side you pick is entirely up to you.

I would be willing to bet any sum of money that if you surveyed any regional pilot group you wouldn't come anywhere close to a 98% satisfaction rate.

Advancing your careers? I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. Let me know when you make it to a mainline, I'll expect your post in 15 years.

Eagle Training Flow Plan as of Nov 4 2013 lowest seniority 2894. we are losing pilots but that seniority list just seems to never shrink.

That may be true, but nothing is going to happen anytime soon. I think the earliest anything will change from that plan is 6 months. More likely a year.

The regional feed isn't the biggest fish to fry for this merger. US/AA will be far more interested in obtaining a single operating certificate, integrating mainline operations, mx, employees, reservation systems, etc. long before they touch regional carriers.

Look at past mergers as an example. Nothing changed overnight and no one got downsized or shifted until months later.

Not sure why people think it would all of a sudden change anything anyway. The merger has been planned and known about for quite a while now. Everything they have been doing was with the merger in mind.

I agree with this, the company knew that they would most likely get the merger approved. Everything they've done since the announcement has been with the eventual decision in mind. If you look at PSA they're a small airline, I think it's well within reason to assume he will do something along the same lines with Eagle.

I am fairly confident that going forward Eagle will continue to park 50 seaters, receive a few "large RJs" (CRJ 700/900) but the aircraft total will still be a net loss. AAG (AMR) will draw down Eagle's size through attrition and eventually it will be a ~1000 pilot airline.

It's 30 "large RJs" 700/900. That's the "great things" so yes I guess it's great we're not shrinking to 0 but it's not exactly rosy.
