I am guessing around 150ish. Classes we about 5-10/ea every 2 weeks. If the rumor is true no classes in Nov and Dec, it seems we probably hired 150-200. Of those who are now still here and line qualified, I would say 100 warm bodies at best.

I'm part of the worthless 35% group, I have a brain, I understand how worthless flow throughs are unless you're in the top 10% of the seniority list. I hope people like Sooner realize that even IF AA takes 25 Eagle pilots a month it will be 10+ years til he goes and countless pilots crammed in above him on the list if he has been here ~3 years.

As for airplanes AA cannot liquidate AE in the current environment. They cannot offload all our flying because there is no one to shift it to. Id rather make the same I do now than get capped at 4 years so I can fly a bigger piece of Brazilian crap than I already do.

Max pay til the last day.

Hmmm, the "35%" group. I wonder if that will be what we are called after the 824 goes through.

"What about the 35%?"

I agree, it will be hard for them to shift flying around. Everyone in the US with the expiation of VA is hiring.

When I say I and most everyone else will likely be gone in 5 years it won't be through a flow.

I don't think they'll be able to shut us down in 5 years. It'll take longer than that

This is exactly what I expected one of you guys would say, and it disgusts me with whomever cooked up the "600 new hires in 2013" lie. They owe the pilot community a public apology. 10-20 new hires a month is no different than any regional ever hires, so it was an outright lie to claim otherwise.

I'm sure they would have hired more but they didn't have enough qualified applicants or people that could get there paper work in order and pass an interview. They were hiring sometimes about 75 a month in 2010/2011 so that's probably where they got that number.
