New hire classes at Mesa have been out in hold til the conclusion of the merger lawsuit. I expect those large RJs are slated to go there.

That's interesting you say that considering they have 9 airplanes coming from US Airways and 30 coming from United, if I am not mistaken they start taking deliveries of the Ejets in the spring.

I've got a friend over there whose new hire class was put on hold and that's what they told him. You didn't honestly expect those planes to come to L Eagle did you? I know it's good to be optimistic and all that but you've got to face reality eventually.

The only carrier waiting on new airplanes that are tied up with the merger is PSA.
Your friend is either wrong about the reason (could be they are having E-Jet certification problems) or he/she doesn't exist and you are making stuff up.
Mesa has to hire to staff 39 new aircraft.

PBS Training update
After getting feedback from the pilot group, one question keeps coming up: “Why should I learn PBS?” The PWG developed some answers to that question:
· To be better informed on what PBS is. There are a lot of misconceptions. For example: PBS does not build the sequences/pairings, PBS does not completely eliminate open time, and PBS does not eliminate TTOT.
· If you participate in the training, you’ll be better prepared to use PBS when/if it is implemented. Also, PBS is becoming the industry standard for developing schedules, which means at some point in your career, you could be using it. Here is a short list of other airlines that use PBS: Delta, Hawaiian, JetBlue (all use NAVTECH), and United. Additionally, American pilots have agreed to implement PBS in the near future.
· It’s important to have a high percentage of participation in order for the lines awarded during the parallel bidding to be valid and realistic. Realistic results are vital for you to make an informed decision about PBS. If only a small percentage of pilots participate, they will end up with a very desirable monthly schedule – a schedule they would not realistically hold with their seniority.
· Being proactive and learning PBS will give you the tools necessary to better control your schedule and quality of life. Pilots who fully understand the system will be able to take full advantage of all of what PBS has to offer.
Hope This Helps

As to "making up" someone at Mesa. I don't need to lie to make Eagle look like an undesirable job, it does well enough on it's own. Just letting any potential new hires know that all ERJs are slated to be retired and NO aircraft are slated to be added. Don't come here unless you want to go down with the ship like the rest of us.
