Dear Professor Millington,
Thank you for your letter of March 16. After careful consideration, I
regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me an assistant professor position in your department.
This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually
large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising field of candidates, it is impossible for me to accept all refusals.
Despite Whitson's outstanding qualifications and previous experience in rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet my needs at this time. Therefore, I will assume the position of assistant professor in your department this August. I look forward to seeing you then.
Best of luck in rejecting future applicants.
Sincerely,
Chris L. Jensen

I know a guy that was rejected by Eagle, took a job with Express Jet, and halfway through training got a call from Eagle offering him a job.
He didn't go to Eagle.

A friend of mine who had avoided the first round of instructor displacements just got notified he'll be headed back to the line. Not sure how many displacements that makes total but it's pretty obvious there isn't going to be much hiring or upgrading at Eagle.
For everyone applying here, come on in the water is fine!

13 for Nov (+ 14 from Sep). Few newhires and no near future vacancy planned. It has to change soon unless they're gonna park more airplanes. We can absorb a few months worth of flow but come summer it will be the usual mess (or worse) without action.
No warm fuzzies right now that's for sure.

Probably that dude whose dad died in 9/11. I'm sure he'll get offered a job wherever he goes.
