Unless AA staples you to the bottom of the list you wont be happy, even then you will complain that you are junior with all these guys ahead of you. The news today aren't the greatest, they could change their plan at any moment but man give it a rest!

I think the point is there IS no good news for Eagle possible. There are not going to be a large amount of upgrades no matter what happens simply because we can't hire. All we can really hope for now is that the guys in the 824 finally get their chance to flow as quickly as possible and those of us outside that agreement manage to find employment elsewhere whether that be another regional, pull a winning lottery ticket and make a major, or get out of the industry completely.

There's no real point attempting to spin it, it is what it is.

So what is the difference between Eagle and SKW whom has 40 airplanes coming in but more going out, EXJ with 20 airplanes leaving before years end with nothing coming in, RAH with 41 airframes that will be out of contract in 15 months? It's the regional industry, it will be a mess for years to come.

Dont forget, almost 90% or more (don't have exact figures) of all Eagle pilots have direct flow into AA and the rest have a preferential "interview" (I know, worthless but still). The "preferential hires" or commonly called now "Protected pilots" are those that were hired before October 2011. They flow over at a lower rate than the 824 (I believe 35% unless pilots are furloughed than it can go up to 50%).

Yes it's 35%, that agreement isn't even worth the paper it's printed on. I guess if you're wanting to wait 10 years and have a few thousand pilots ahead of you on the list it's a great deal.

So yesterday you said go elsewhere we are parking airplanes, today you say go elsewhere because we are not parking airplanes. Stop comparing us to other regional, meanwhile you tell everyone to go to other regional because we don't have a plan, meanwhile they gave you an updated short term plan and you still don't like it.

If you read your post in the last 24 hrs they contradict themselves, but meanwhile they are in line with Bzzt.

Everything is bad for Eagle. Meanwhile we are sending 250+ CA to AA in the next 12 months while *keeping our fleet intact and it's a bad thing for Eagle.

*Subject to change just everyone else in the industry.

Unless there are a lot of the numbered guys left I don't see how we're losing 250+ next year. Only 150 will go to AA as part of the 824 assuming they're not metered.

We have 50 whom have accepted class at AA and yet to go to class, there are 31 left whom have a few more days to accept. Lets say that 25 take it that leaves us with 75 leaving before December

Then:

Dec: 20
Jan: 20
Feb: 20
Mar: 20
Apr: 20
May: 20
Jun: 20
Jul: 20
Aug: 20
Sep: 20

That makes it 275 guys leaving even with the metering over the next 12 months. AA sent out interview invites today for new hires, do you still think they are playing around?

275 AE guys leaving for AA in 12 months, couple that with all the other airlines who are hiring and Eagle could lose 400 captains in the next 12 months or so.

American said its plan call for hiring hire and training 40 to 50 pilots a month beginning this winter “through at least summer 2014.” Meaning they will hire through at least next Aug.

I don't know what else to tell you, apparently you day dream all this doom and gloom and can't look around. Flights are full and the mainlines are shifting flying back to them. The demand of air travel is picking up, the airlines are flying record load factors fast approaching 90%, there is a demand for pilots while the supply for the current amount of airframes at the regionals and majors exceed the supply of pilots and made worse by the retirement. Look at AA with the 319, Delta with the 717 and United soon to likely increase their NB fleet.

Where are the new hires coming from!?!?!?! That's a good question.

I still remember getting the E-mail from them at the beginning of the year inviting me to apply so I can collect that 5K bonus.

So, since the start of the year, how many of that 600+ they wanted to hire have they actually gotten?
