@rcfd most people have apps in everywhere, if you unwrap your wonka bar and find the golden ticket you're lucky, not the norm.
@what divesting AE would give us the opportunity to bid for UAL and DAL flying instead of being beholden to AA who clearly wants us to shrink. Dissolving the flow + being divested would free up seats in every new hire class for qualified applicants not just the most senior bodies at AE. Divesture + no flow would also give everyone at AE a better chance of getting on over there through the normal process of interviews.
@biigd It's not feasible for me to switch careers at this point, so I'll settle with hopefully educating as many people as I can about this poor choice of a career.

United is maxed out for the next two years, and delta has 30 airframes left that will likely lead to an exchange for 50 seaters. Delta has all their feed basically set and so does United. For another two and half years. So what are we going to compete for again? You are trying to educate other but need to do better research yourself.

There are 30 airframes left, but EXJ or Pinnacle will have to park 150ish airframes or a combination. In 2015 EXJ will have to adjust their rates to the higher of Pinnacle or Compass, at that time I would assume their management will have to take steep rate cuts or see the airframes be gone. In 2011 Delta and Skywest did something similar to where 66 airframes left with a few coming in, this is how the 25 AE CRJ 200 came about. The future is likely to repeat itself. I don't think AE would be in any position to compete for such airplanes as they will be used as leverage over current DCI operators. Things are more complex than just being able to bid on flying. There is much more to this than pilot cost as well.

It's a moot point anyway, as far as I know divestiture isn't even on the table anymore.

They are definitely interviewing and hiring, I have a interview next week. This kind of surprises me considering they are parking planes. I guess the reduction of aircraft alone isn't enough to cover for the new rest rules and guys actually moving to mainline.

It is no different than any airline in the past that has parked older aircraft. The bottom line is that Eagle needs pilots. The majority of the current pilots will be leaving within the next few years for AA. The ones that don't go there will be moving on to other legacies like United and Delta.
Now is a good time to get in.
