Eagle to hire 600+ in 2013!
#1111
900 pilots? Break down for me the 900?
United by itself will pick up 500, American will come up with the rest of your 900 and Delta and US airways will pick 600 or so between the two. Then the LCC carriers will grab a good amount also, SWA 200, Frontier 120, Spirit and JetBlue????
Again where are you getting 900 from? What part don't you understand about SCOPE forcing RJs to less airframes and total seat miles while mainlines are growing total airframes

Haven't you guys figured out yet that Bzzt and RJ Pilot are the same person?
Poor RJ never had anybody who would support him on here. So he went out and created an ally.
Just go ahead and start a fake rumor over on Eagle Lounge and see either "Bzzt" or RJ Pilot shoot it out the pipe over here.

Post like this prove that you are just here trying to stir to pot and hear yourself, you always have some stupid remark and it always gets squashed. Yes Eagle is having a hard time currently from all accounts and management is increasing the pain to make the senior guys go. It's working, like I said nearly a 40% turnover in 2013 from the top 500. Sure you will ride this puppy to the grave, I bet you are gone by next summer!
So why would they screw up & disband an excellent pilot group, which is likely to be an asset in the times to come?
I think that the mgmt is deliberately creating this uncertainty about the future of AE, increasing the pain & increasing the heating under the seats of senior people.
May be the mgmt wants the senior pilots to either flow to AA or consider going to other places; just so the top heavy AE can be lightened up a little bit & AE can become cost effective once again.
That could be one of the reasons of offering ****ty T&C, no fleet plan and threats of disvesting AE.
Parking the planes without a fleet renewal plan & awarding Eagle to other carriers is to make this threat look real.
May be I am wrong, I am just an outsider with little knowledge about the AMR, but the way I see it & can read between the lines is, I think this is all being done for a purpose.

I don't read eagle lounge, I simply post on here as a public service to all the aspiring pilots. I don't want them to listen to optimistic people who don't know what they're talking about and getting into this industry thinking someday they'll fly for a major. It's a pipedream and you're doing a disservice portraying it any other way.
The math I'm going with shows 300 from AA, and no concrete numbers anywhere else especially not DAL which has a large amount of contractual flow throughs. SWA's trickle hiring isn't worth noting and I have no idea about Spirit because I have no desire to work there.

Yeah they're not hiring a ton right now but the people who are trying hard are getting interviews. The people not applying and posting on the forums about doom and gloom aren't going anywhere soon. You're right about that part.

How about united and delta? Us Airways? FedEx?
Last 12 years hit the airlines hard and in turn hit the pilots hard but the corner has been turned. The 40,000 or mainline pilots can't fly forever and some has to replace them. How many pilots is the AF putting out that actually fly an airplane? The guard boom days are all but over and many will stay on AD for many years to come, Navy is following the same route. Someone has to replace 15,000 pilots reaching age 65 in the next 10 years, or 15 if the age is raised! At some point these guys will either be forced to retire or will expire at the controls and that's no pun at the United guy as a heart attack can hit anyone at anytime. You can moan and ***** all you want but at some point these pilots have to go and for now the time started 10 months ago.

Plenty of people will fly for a major. Sorry you were lied to about working only 5 days per month flying wide bodies. Most of us actually did our due diligence and came up through the ranks with more realistic expectations. Time to go off and do something else before you become another Sky High (too late, I suppose).
