Out.
No worries. I'm inclined to believe our view on this is congruent.

You're right about this. It manifests itself in the "paying your dues" that we always complain about. People who had to work hard for what they have versus those who were able to just buy the job at some pilot factory in Florida. They might have to meet the same requirements but their path to the job wasn't nearly as hard.

Should I hold ANYBODY in that group in contempt?

Speak for yourself, because you don't really don't know your history EITHER.

Agree with this, see my above. And it CONTINUES to happen in various places in the world. Even though to the outsider, those people can appear exactly the same. Yet there's a racial/ethnic divide. The problems in Africa are a prime example.

But along the line of what you've said on this topic previous;

Which was a response to this post;

You have waaaaaay to much time on your hands.

The EEOC determines minimum hiring qualifications in discrimination cases by going back through the records. So if you have a 500 hour female hired at XYZ airlines is because they had a track record of discrimination AND at some point hired a 499 hour nephew of a board member or son of a Chief Pilot. You guys complain about women and minorities, but I never hear anyone complaining about those who use the advantages of birth.

And for the record, the discrimination case that really got the ball rolling in the airline industry was age, not race or gender.
You cant be posting logical stuff like this in this thread! The OP wants to hear things like "yes, the man is holding us back"

As I said before, these are people that I actually know.
I knew them before they got the job and many of them I flew with.
If I had a direct link to someone in the hiring dept of said companies, I would have already been hired.

2) Do you know of any situations where white males got some type of deal or break? Or is it you opinion that that never happens?
That is reverse discrimination and I am not in favor of that either.

3) Do you walk around thinking that every minority or female pilot got some type of break to get their job, and every white male pilot was fully qualified, passed all their jeopardy points and had no issues making it to the seat?
Nope, but I does make you suspicious of some.
I have flown with a few female co-pilots that I really wondered how they got the job much less passed the check ride.
I have also flown with some great ones too.

Frankly, the honest answer to these questions may help you to understand your frustration. Believe me, HRs will weed out people they see as a potential liability in the future.
It is very frustrating to see people with a fifth of you experience (or less) get jobs when you can't get an interview. I know I am not the only one this boat, I work with a bunch of guys in the same situation. What can we do....nothing really. Wait for the next round of hiring and hopefully our friends at various airline can help us get interviews.

You completely missed my point.
Your resume gets you the interview and then you have the chance to make it or break it at the interview.
I have even gotten the chance, yet.

I take offense to your judgmental/categorizing remark

But if you're posting/responding, the SAME could be said about you, ya think?

I chopped off your username from the quote, because I didn't see you specifically relevant, just USMC's response to a point being made.

But you OBVIOUSLY had enough time to go back ad research that it was you that wrote it. Of course, based on what you said above about not remembering.
