The only thing I still can't figure out is why delta would loan a company tens of millions of dollars, then squash them a year later. Not saying that's not what's happening, but it doesn't add up.

This poll is assuming we have some kind of chance of determining the final state of the airline. We have no such power. Like I said earlier the fleet plan is the fleet plan. Whether we vote yes or no the end state fleet plan doesn't change. If you vote yes we will still be down to 81 planes by the end of 2014. If you vote no we will still be down to 81 planes by the end of 2014. The bankruptcy judge still has to approve the contract and deem it fit for bankruptcy exit. That means that he will have already reviewed it and signed off on it. So we vote it in it gets implemented. We vote it down and the judge implements it because according to our union who agreed to it the TA is considered fair. It is the same scenario the AA pilots went through when they voted theirs down. In just a matter of days the judge gave AA the right to throw out their contract and implement their terms. We lose either way. Unfortunately for those of you who think voting this down or up will make a difference you are mistaken. There will be lots of downgrades and furloughs. The vote will not change that.

Delta spent more in Q3 shutting down Comair than they spent in Q2 keeping Pinnacle afloat.

Ok, but WHY? That's what I can't figure out. Why spend a ****load of money to kill a company who serves your customers? They could have just let Pinnacle die on its own. Why throw money at it and then kill it?
