Good luck, Pinnacle. It's your airline, but we are all watching you and hoping for the best. Next Pinnacle guy I meet gets a beer. It'll be whatever is on special, but it's still on me

The bar has already been lowered, look at the gojet contract, 9E management would have to double the 1113(c) ask to equal that abomination. If this place shuts down, that's who is getting our airplanes, heck, they are already going to get 30 900's from Delta in the December fleet announcement. This is the regional whipsaw in full effect, and there is no way to take a stand against management when you don't own scope. I don't even plan to vote on a TA, it's a complete waste of time.

Every time a regional shuts down, the pilots go right back into the domestic hiring pool for whatever other regional that picks up the flying they lost. So, they end up flying the same plane for half the pay and the race to the bottom continues. Maybe we all need to go overseas so we aren't so easily replaced.

Unfortunately the regional airlines don't care if you leave, they know they can replace you very easily. There are thousands of young flight-instructors, or kids flying cargo in C402s who would agree to any salary in-order to fly a jet. These kids won't fly a jet for free because of the stigma that comes with that, but short of that, they'd take anything. The regionals know that and the majors know that as well.
If you are a senior pilot at a regional, you would actually be doing them a favor by leaving, they'd replace you with someone cheaper (junior)

Exactamundo! Want a good analogy about how many people are waiting to take your spot? Just put your finger into a bucket if water and pull it out and watch how fast the hole fills in.

If that were true there wouldn't be regionals right now offering signing bonuses.

I talk to them on a regular basis
Believe me when I tell, these kids would take any salary to fly a jet. I'm actually quoting them.Unfortunately, few of them meet the hiring minimumns.
Makes me sad when they say "I'll do anything to fly that CRJ" that is taking-off, but I was there once long time ago, so I keep my mouth shut.

I live two blocks away from an airport, I walk my dog by every day. 3 flight schools in that airport. I'm guessing around 35-40 flight instuctors work there.
