Looks like if you were awarded a new seat you wont be able to trade until the end of the month.

Just like most things with this company it appears there is a glitch. Feels like you could say that about every new window/bid/survey. /embarrassed

Any word on rumors of the new open bid in 2013, seems like a lot of people that moved to the 700 would move back to the 200 in atl when they see how many new people where getting placed behind them

Can't move back to the 200 unless there is a vacancy right? Am I correct?

Not only that, the contract states they can bypass you when bidding for a lower paying position. Don't go to the 700 unless you're willing to stay there.

Interestingly that only applies to Captains bidding for a lower paying category in the same domicile. The contract does not allow First Officers to be bypassed in the same situation. Either way a 24-month category freeze will result so one should be sure before bidding into a pay cut.

CT stated that there would be another position notice in Q1 2013. The contents of this notice have been the subject of wild speculation and rumor. Personally I'm only expecting adjustments for attrition and summer staffing as the remaining 900s are delivered (by May). I'd be very surprised to see 200 vacancies in ATL unless they are resultant from upgrades or attrition.

I really hope most of the First Officers who bid off the 200 were smart enough to reference the max/min on the position notice and understand that new-hires would fill in the bottom of the list. If not a return bid could lock them in 200 pay for 2 years. If attrition takes off as expected the seniority difference should correct itself well before that freeze would expire.
