You didn't demonstrate the above restriction while demonstrating your ATP and that is why you're restricted. I don't believe it's a big deal, your next type should clear up it considering it's an RJ thing. The only people that I see make a big deal of it is Asia.

That's what I figured. I just thought I had read a few months back, that the NPRM for 8/2013 required an unrestricted ATP. I guess I am wrong. I always knew the type would have that restriction, but it just sucks to see it on your ATP.

When do you think/how will it change? Any word on a vacancy bid or trades etc?

Everyone who upgraded on the CL-65 has that restriction, since we don't circle below 1000'. Those of us who upgraded on the ATR or Brasilia don't have it since we demonstrated a circling approach ti minimums on our ATP ride. But our CL-65 type is restricted. Either way, it means nothing. You don't "really" have a "restricted ATP". I seriously doubt mainline guy are circling to minimums in 777s either.

Is the DFW base still opening next month? Haven't heard talks of a vacancy bid either.

Yes, it opens on February 13th. The vacancy bid for DFW came out in October.

He's referring to the vacancy bid CT mentioned for "early 2013". We've hired almost 200 FOs since last October and upgraded about 40 captains. It's nice to have easy schedules but it'd be nicer if they upgraded more...

People will tell you ATL went really junior on the 200 side, but that was sort of a fluke and won't stay like that very long.

Good to hear they are still doing classes!
I really hope the company holds the seat lock for once. Everyone received the Min/Max email before the bid opened and they should have been able to figure out that the difference in the 200 prelim had to be picked up by new hires. This company doesn't need to be spending any more money training pilots that can't even figure out a Min/Max and "accidentally" went to the 700. That just gives them more incentive to say they have continuous operating costs that justify not giving us raises in the JCBA.
