XJet News Thread (NO contract bickering)

Are you serious? How long have you worked at L-ASA? You have some serious stones calling out the L-XJET guys too!

Another one of those guys that thinks his experience is the reality. Just because YOU have never had a problem doesn't me the problem doesn't exist. Trust me. People that don't know the rules, break the rules. Especially when it make their job much easier.
Take it for what it's worth but I have personally had them ask me and others in the crew individually to be on duty for over 16 hours. And these guys knew the rules. They were desperate and hoping someone would fall for it. I'm sure some Wh#$# A#$ pilot would have done it.
But I don't say that it ALWAYS happens given that it happened to me.

Have you guys dealt with the Atlanta-tude of these ass clowns at L-ASA scheduling yet!?!? What a bunch of bafoons! But don't you dare tell them they are are wrong even when you can quote chapter and verse from the contract or the FARs. Next thing you know they are butt-sore about it and your day off is rolled. I can't believe the ASA guys have put up with it for this long. Ahhhh...but who cares...you get to go fly a JET!!!
Full disclosure: I live in base and been on reserve almost a year now.

CS: "Hi I'm calling to let you know you've been assigned ARC again for tomorrow."
Me: "So I'm sitting ARC, and you're calling me to give me ARC for tomorrow?"
CS: "Yes."
Me: "You can't do that, per the contract."
..... a little while later.....
CS: "You're being converted to short call for the next three days."
Me: "What for?"
CS: "For coverage."
Me: "What do you mean, coverage? You've got 40 reserves tomorrow. Let me talk to a supervisor, please..."
It's inexcusable, but I'd like to believe that some of the schedulers really don't have a clue about the regs or the contract. Others I know try to sneak stuff by us. They aren't trained well enough, and they aren't paid anything. Hence what I would assume is a revolving door in that department.

Yep... my most recent experience back a couple of months:

That has honestly not been my experience. In my 8.5 years here I have seen scheduling go from absurd to pleasant and professional. I believe the primary issue currently is turnover and new people not knowing the rules, however as I said the times it has happened to me the supervisor handles it well. And fyi relative to the old days I've had about 5 years of contentment, half on reserve.
Just run the math and then call up knowing what they can and can not do with you, expecting to hear the worst.

They will try to get away with anything they can. They couldn't care less if it's a violation. They want to make it someone else problem. Period. Off their screen and done.
And it NEVER fails, if you call them on a blaring violation of contract or FARs, they WILL retaliate. Every time. You'll be converted to short call when they already have 20 reserves in the same call period, assigned RRR 6am several days straight, called 5 minutes before your RRR ends and given a trip that starts in 2 hours, sent to MCN to do a test flight and ferry a plane that's days from being ready, then rescheduled an 9 hour overnight followed by a 14 hour duty day, then another reduced rest, multiple deadheads to Canada to fly 1 leg to DTW, it goes on. I've had all that done. Scheduling is pure evil. They are told in their initial "training" that pilots are a bunch of overpaid prima donnas who always try anything to get out of working. They're told we all make 100K. They are brought up to hate us from day 1. Scheduling is the single worst thing about this company. Period.

I guys just think you know me. The flambaiting I do on The Sewer is for pure entertainment because it's so easy to get you guys spooled up. I don't even believe half the stuff I write over there. If you read carefully, you can tell which posts are real and which are pure flame. That's why they say I'm bipolar, lol.
