300 airframes at ASA by the end of 2015. Currently have approx 164.

Great, so much for hoping that they will raise the standards on FA hiring. With those numbers, they'll continue to hire every person walking in the door.

More RJs.... Great for the lifers!
Also great for the 5-7 yr FOs who want to get some PIC time and move on, or at least make more than 50k a year.......

Why would anybody want to make over 50k per year? So overrated!

Hiring is for Miami, enough said.
Nope, this is real, a third instructor confirmed this. iPads will be coming out somewhere between Feb and May (a little vague I know) but his information came from management and the FAA. I'm guessing you're one of those must see it to believe it (don't blame you) so enjoy it when you see it!

deal g-d that's a lot. Wonder when an announcement will be made as to any kind of growth... I've heard MIA, more from DCI, and also more from UAL in the form of CR7/9s. Of all of those I'll believe any of them when I see them, none really have more legs than the others but something is happening for sure.

BTW thanks for the excellent info. Very good news especially for us FOs. Combined with attrition it looks like a pilot hired today will upgrade in less than 2 years. If I was a Pinnacle FO I'd abandon ship ASAP to beat the wave over here.

Also if anyone hasn't grabbed SKYW stock yet I'd highly recommend doing so before announcements start dropping. It's already up almost 100% since it bottomed out $6.25 due to moronic Wallstreet analysts

With DCI we may hear something after Delta Investor Day up in NYC on the 12th of this month. We won't hear a peep from United or AMR until the TA vote is complete on the 7th and 15th respectively. I'd wager we'll here something by January at the latest.

Hahaha wow the irony. Kind of like the moron who buys stock based on the recommendation of a user on an anonymous airline pilot forum?

Also there will never be a 2 year upgrade at an almost 5000 pilot airline (assuming a SLI in the next 2 years, which is a stretch I know).

Good point. I forgot all about the SLI.

As far as the stock pick, no arguments, ill just bookmark and get back to you in the Spring

HAHAHAHA WHAT?! I swear I don't know where you guys get this stuff?! ok so lets assume that this rumor isn't complete bs.... (and it is)... you have to staff about 140 aircraft. That means at 11 pilots per a/c you have to hire around 1500 guys... On top of that you have to hire for attrition likely about 300 a year on just the ASA side, that equates to 900 over 3 years... Then you need to compensate for the change in duty rules I would guess about 15% more pilots but a more conservative approach would be 10% if we have 300 a/c then we have 3300 pilots on the old staffing model and would have to add 330 for the new model... lets add that all up people; 1500+900+330= 2730 pilots.... It's not realistic and likely never going to happen. That would mean hiring 900 pilots per year. We have about 1500 active pilots as it is. Hiring 900 pilots in a year is 60% percent of our current active pilots. Even if it were plausible to to find this ammount of people (which it's not, and I mean that seriously), there is absolutely no chance we could train at that level without using every single CRJ sim in the entire world, around the clock, 365...

Gentlemen, there is a difference between growth and healthy growth. Airlines generally want the latter. I'm eager for an upgrade people but if we get this ammount of flying it would probably come at a cost of mainline jobs. Regional airlines do not in any way benefit our long term career objectives. All knowing Trip7 has been here five years and he says you are lying.

I also very specifically remember SH in recurrent summer of 2008 - "We've done our research and you can expect EFBs to be online by January or February 2009."

He didn't say I was lying, he just doesn't believe it until he sees it. Fair enough. I've been here a little longer than him and I've heard the same crap from SH. Five years doesn't mean much around here...
This didn't come from SH. This came from the FAA and the training department. Believe what you want, no skin off my back. Just sharing info I believe to be sturdy.
