Just curious how hooked on the tropics you are.
South FL sucks (the flying and lower cost of living/slightly lower, are why I stay here, I make more money and it cost me much less to do it). If I get bumped to NY I will move, and AMR will pay for it (pending that doesnt get snuck into this TA) shat, maybe I should not have posted it online!

I will take the paid move back to NY. We will have to move in with family (most likely my Baby Mama's Mama), and I will reevaluate my life and try and figure out how to salvage this. I figure once I am bumped out of Miami, a furlough is coming not long after, however I do think I will get bumped from Miami BEFORE I get furloughed. Downside is I just entered into another 1 year lease, so that will make decision making a bit harder than I want.

I am going to try everything in my power to avoid playing the RJ game again, and fuel this bottom of the pile whipsaw model. I already know some people who can get me an interview for corporate gigs, and there is not really a lack of 135 job postings online. I am coming close to the ATP ride at Eagle, so once I have that, I will at least have an ATP and 2500 hours. I am hoping that will making it possible to avoid having an RJ airline as my only option.

You want to know where I live, my upcoming months sched, my phone number, mailing address, commercial pilot cert, and social sec number too??

What is weird is I talked to my buddy, another AE pilot, tonight prior to hearing about this and he told me he was starting to hear the rumor of AE hiring! Weird.

if he reads forums it make sense. The hiring website was fully updated, both the AMR run site, and airlineapps to reflect ATP mins, and it was done in the last week or so. I might have even started that rumor since I noticed and posted it here and talkairline.

Whatever happens, I don't think it will be that rapid. Should Eagle announce the need to furlough, I'd expect an increase in attrition which may negate or delay furloughs. It's good to have a plan though. If things really go south here, I have one too.

LOL !!!

Nah man, that's ok. But since we're in the neighborhood, how about your credit card #, expiration date and the 3 letter security code on the back ?

Christmas is coming and daddy needs a new pair of shoes.

AA and APA will cease flying for AMR. AMR, by using AE, will accept large orders of new A320s and B737's and pay us at Republic E190 pay rates. 500 APA pilots will remain to fly B777 and B787. You heard it hear first!

(I am kidding) I do admire APA for standing their ground and hope AE will follow their lead!

DFW airport is hiring "SkyLink Control Center Operator" and "Parking Citation Administrator". Both pay more than my 5 year Jet FO pay rate at AE!

Crazy! And your home every night. Something is wrong with this picture!

I am glad they did it because it is setting some long term trends. If the company actually gets scared and backs down it might lead the sheep of the future (pilots) to pony up and do the same. IF the company tries to sodomize them, and they call the bluff and pull all the ropes (they are threatening), then I think a USAIR deal will happen, and still smash the current AMR management, as well as cause the UCC to give up some serious chunks of change. The later will deter using CH11 in the major airline world as a means to simply cut labor, and put some leverage on pilot labor. It could even do the same for the RJ world, as RAH is one bad decision/investment away from being CH11, add in their mounting pilot/management relationship, and this could feel like watching the remake of footloose on a 4 hour flight after a 3 hour tarmac delay on what was a 15 hr 55min duty day after a 2 hour delay to depart on the deadhead.

WARN Act letters are not required if there are no layoffs. Additonally, there is only a 60 day notice requirement.
