All about Johnston & Murphy.. I have loafer type with tassels, but they have plenty of types without tassels. They are extremely comfortable. I'm an RJ guy and am out doing 4-6 leg days.. Never get uncomfortable. They are security friendly and are easy to get on and off in the cockpit if you wanna relax..
They have the comfort, the classic professional look, and they shine wonderfully.
I have the ones that came with leather soles. They wear out quick, but I took them to a shoe repair place and for 30 bucks they put this high quality goodyear neolite rubber on the sole and heel. That rubber has lasted with zero wear for over a year.

I had a pair of slip on Dockers that were great for the last several years, but I accidentally left them on top of my car on the street last month like an idiot. Just flew my first 4 day with these and so far I really like them.

I just got a new pair of eccos and both of them have been airport friendly. They last forever and are as comfortable as tennis shoes.... My first pair lasted 4 years also and are still ok to wear, just starting to look a little beat up....

clarks - wave.
walking shoe with more of a professional appearance.
the ones I have have laces, but are airport friendly (none of clarks' shoes have metal shanks). they're the most comfortable shoes i own.
i think i paid around 100 bucks for them.

No they are not. I went to the ECCO store at Mall of America in MSP and specifically asked for "airport friendly" shoes. The sales dude talked about all his United pilot buddies who swore by Eccos so I dropped a $buck 30 on his recommendation and proceeded through security only to hear the dreaded beep. I was pretty angry about the whole thing as he assured me they were safe. I brought them back and got these:

I have tried just about every brand over the years and I am most satisfied with these.

ECCO!
Go to Nordstrom's and buy them, spend the extra cash. If ANYTHING goes wrong with them they will replace them. My leather on the toes got eaten up a bit from wear and tear and they replaced them free. No receipt, no questions.
