It's not about ear buds. It's about having a professional image in front of the flying public. If you want to know why people think regional pilots are a bunch of fuzz-faced punk kids, look in the mirror. Are you helping or hurting the image of the profession in the eyes of every one you pass in the airport or who sets foot on your airplane? You wanna rock your Beats and your backpack and your skateboard on your own time, that is your own business and I encourage it. Hell, I spend most of my weekends in loud, dark bars and clubs that most of my coworkers would be too scared to set foot in. But when it's time to go to work, I put my big boy pants on, straighten my tie and put away the mp3 player. When you are at work you are expected to be a professional; at least try to look and act like one.

Has anyone else noticed an increase in the number of inane questions being asked by noobs with seemingly random or poorly thought out screennames?
I'm always amazed with the correlation between those who refuse to research the answer to their question and those who are upset with the minimum ATP requirement for regionals.

The sense of entitlement is funny. "Not only do I not want to wait for my job at the airlines, I don't want to research the law that is keeping me from said job".

I am just shy of betting money that the law will be "modified" way before its suppose to go into effect. I bet it will happen sometime right after November. Theres just to many deep pockets in D.C. for it not to happen. Now will it go way? No, but I bet it will be changed to add something like "500TT with advanced jet training". We will see.

You can bet some sort of modification or change will happen because with so much money in he or she pockets it's burning holes in those pockets.

Mod Note:

Ok, boys and girls, I'm sorry to have to take the crash axe to this thread, but it's too painful to let it continue to live. First, the OP is incredibly naive and really should spend more time developing a modicum of SA if he wants to some day join the august ranks of Airline Pilots. After some justified ribbing, however, the thread is getting close to violating his 8th Amendment right against cruel and unusual punishment. It has also drifted a lot.
