Did you have FO fences? Did those 3,000 pilots bump the other 3,000 to the street when their planes went away and geta raise for doing it?

Yes. 777 and 744 fenced until 2015. Not a real big deal. If we were to furlough yes they would. It is what their new seniority is. Again, longevity does not count for anything other than vacation, passes and what pay step they are on.

Yep, accept it and continue, thanks Nerd for your words of wisdom. This is the ALPA mantra, accept it and move on, passed on from our forefathers at NWA. Accept it and move on, I will!!! Professionally I will continue to make you proud Nerd. I will accept that as a union we (you) have come to a point where the only answer is accept it and move on or grieve it!! Our race to the bottom continues and the mainline carriers are following us down!!!

There won't be any pilots going from Saab FO to CRJ FO. The only people left from Colgan will be going from Q or Saab CA to CRJ FO and it will be people that have been captains for at least 3-5 years.

I will get downgraded in this mess for sure. However, if I try to keep the left seat by pushing to get an out of seniority furlough, I deserve to get my ATP ripped up because I am no longer of "good moral character".

If the training events causes this place to liquidate, so be it, the slide of this profession MUST STOP.

So what is your suggestion? Furlough out of seniority? That's a good idea. You entered into arbitration with the knowledge of how it "could" go down. Now you don't like it. I fully understand, but the list is the list. Truthfully I wish we could put the 900s on our list, give you guys a number and when we hire the ones that are on furlough are the first in. I also wish I had a 12" schlong and was an award winning porn star but so far my wishes have not been granted As far as the race to the bottom. We have had nothing but backwards movement for the last 12 years. In compensation, work rules, retirement, vacation, days off etc, etc. The regionals in that time frame have experienced unprecedented growth. Had we (and WE failed miserably) contained scope most of you would not be discussing your downgrades to crj fo because you would not be capts now and a large portion would still be towing banners, flight instructing or out of the industry all together. OUR weakness allowed you to have a job. Your segment of the industry is now going through what ours has for the last decade. Not fun for sure. Maybe, just maybe if we don't allow anymore subcontracting there may be some hope for this profession. But furloughing out of seniority is something that none of us want to see started.

They shouldn't even be calling this an out of seniority furlough.

I think they need to undo the SLI. Then furlough based on inverse seniority which is the normal and proper way to do this.

I am not wanting any "out of seniority furlough", I want the SLI undone.

PS. I would rather none of this happen, get 30 more Q's, brush off the SLI crap sandwhich, and live as one big happy family.
Doesn't matter if we as individual pilots except the SLI or not. Our prospective unions agreed to binding arbitration and we now have to work with what we got; the process is more important than the individual in this case.

Run the numbers guys. Very few, if any, Colgan pilots will hold Captain when this is done because of the fences. The downgrades will come from senior 900 CAs out of Atlanta looking for a new place. They will bump the junior 200 CAs out of their seats and displace them to FOs.

Look at the numbers. Mesaba especially is way over their minimum Captain level for the 200s because of the previous Mesaba Saab displacement, Pinnacle is over as well. Junior 200 CAs will feel the hit in this because of the senior Atlanta pilots.

I know it is fun to blame Colgan for every Captain displacement but this will not be the case.

So, how would a "real" seniority list be created in your eyes? Let me guess, you go on top and staple everyone else below you? That's what the PCL merger committee basically suggested from the beginning (with small variation).

Despite what any of us think, this is an arbitrated seniority list. It's binding....as in this isn't "bullpoop" as you claim; rather, it's the real deal. Accept it before you stroke out. If the collective merger committees had been able to come to an agreement, the list might've looked differently.....but that didn't happen and it's over.

Please stop crying about the list.

We did at NWA (while some still and always will *****) nobody sued(maybe in small numbers, but never gained traction) and we went on acting/flying professionally and doing our jobs. Some guys had close to 3000 pilots that were hired after them slotted ahead of them. Chew on that. That is more pilots than on your entire list. You can either handle this as an adult or like the usapa losers. Your choice.
Precisely!
