pilots should stand together to refuse to be a new hire at RAH till a contract is met. The clear lack of new hires for RAH right now is such huge leverage. Everyone should post on every forum that no one is go to RAH till they get a contract. This is such a great opportunity to unite.
Don't go to RAH til the contract is worked out! Support the pilot group you hope to join! (and shoot, I am not at RAH, but I am pulling for ya)

Stand strong guys, I turned them down for an interview last year, very glad I did know even though it didn't take much thought at 23 bucks an hour times guarantee. Good luck to you all, I hope you can make these management types understand that 20000 a year is not enough let alone 40000 a year. I say minimum 50000 a year for an FO and 100000 for Captains, period, that is what you are all worth at least and maybe then they may be able to entice more qualified competent pilots.

When is it paid?...after you complete the sim and IOE, right?
What happens if the union is able to overturn the bonus before your paid? Bye bye bonus
Reality check guys...afterall, you could loose the value of the $2500 in the first year because we have no cancelation pay. Just go to a company that is honest about their pay upfront and doesnt try to play tricks to fool you.

I do understand how it operates, I was referring at how much tax you will have to pay initially when you receive the $5,000 bonus, the 25-28% of the pie the government will want right away. With the low wages that first year FOs make they should see a portion of that tax returned, but that initial 5K dollar bonus just became $3,750 when they receive it, they have to wait until they file their taxes for the possibility of recouping part of that tax. I was trying to refer how the money initially sounds good but in less than a year it could be made up at one of the other regionals that are hiring. This is only speaking just guarantee pay. If we speak of "soft pay" these new hires could easily overcome the 5K bonus in 6-8 moths at other regionals. Even with the 5K dollar bonus RAH first year pay will be less than most of the regionals hiring.

We are not hiring at Eagle, so I personally can not. BUT DO NOT USE THIS MENTALITY TO SAY ITS OK TO GOTO REPUBLIC. This is getting close to being the same as a strike. When Eastern went on strike, did someone with a class date have the right to justify their actions by saying well no one else hired me!
DO NOT GOTO REPUBLIC UNTIL THEY GIVE THEIR PILOTS A CONTRACT. SPREAD THE WORD. SUPPORT THE MOVEMENT.

We are becoming the desired resource right now on the open market, its time we let supply and demand work and up our price. Do not back down!! Guys on property are stuck on the hand of seniority, but those looking have a choice!! STAND STRONG.

Wait, let me get this straight. Republic will give me FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS just for getting hired on and they will let me fly a brand new E175/E190 at $22 to $30 an hour?
brb, getting in line to apply for this job with every other debt-stricken SJS ERAU numb nuts. That will take $5,000 right off my $200,000 student loan!
Not serious, but be prepared for swarms of applicants with this type of mentality. Hope the union puts a stop to this.
