[QUOTE Lots of prop>jet guys have been failing, that part is true. In many cases they have been given over 70 hours of OE and still can't pass their fed rides. QUOTE]

How do you fail a Fed ride again????

I don't think the busts have been ill-intentioned and on purpose. One of the guys who busted his oral didn't know his systems well enough. We were kind of expecting it. A couple of the guys who have busted their checkrides did so because they crashed during a single-engine go-around or crashed during landing. I would have never expected it from them to fail and I felt bad for them considering they're great guys but I guess sht happens sometimes.

I have to say that from my experience, the APDs seem to be doing a decent job. There is sometimes a lack of standardization among the "professional instructors" (non line pilots). I still think 9E's procedures have their flaws and some can be silly. My experience with ground school was not the best and I think others can agree.

Not true. I was kicked out of my hotel because we have a very incompetent training scheduler who booked our hotel stay incorrectly for many of us. We had to move hotels because the original one was overbooked. Again, it wasn't all of us but perhaps 8 of us or so.

Ask any 9E FO who has flown with a Saab captain and you will hear some really shocking stories. Many of these guys have never flown over 250kt, or any big airports. You can't blame training for people biting off more than they can chew.
Though it might be true for some, c'mon man...Do you really think that LGA is a small airport? We had some Saab flying out of there and it was no problem. I think we shouldn't be quick to judge.

Well as far as 9L guys not getting thru at 9E there are guys just not being smart... For example in crew room the other day 9L CA shows up for OE with out his complete FOM... In my opinion automatic you don't do OE and go home but base manager produced FOM for said CA and off he went on OE... from my observations all busts have been justified and there has been a lot of grace and breaks given to the boys n gals coming over. And Pinnacle Training department has a history of a high number of busts.

All I can say is I'm going to study my arse off when I make the transition.

Going from a Saab to a CRJ200 will not be an easy task, and I will treat it as any challenge I have encountered before. I look forward to working with everyone over there

I won't be perfect, but I'll get'r'done. I'd say "I'll do my best", but anyone who has seen The Rock knows what Sean Connery says about that

Are you waiting for someone to say you don't fail a fed ride, you're just not signed off?

Yup, one our guys failed because he was repositioned on a type ride because the pinnacle apd failed to set weather mins low. So the apd repo him on final and ca forgot to reset fms appraoch and the apd failed him. Well the ca got no assistance fro
9E union. And so far nothing come of it. But was reported to faa.
Wow. Just wow. Intentionally failing Colgan/mesaba guys. This thread is worse than the gossip between the parents of TX cheerleaders that didn't make the team. 80% of the 9l/xj guys I have signed off to do their checkride have passed. Those that didn't deserved not to. Trust me I was at some of the events. That's the way the story goes everytime from the guy that busts. "he failed me cause I missed some FMA calls". BS. You forgot to tell your buddy you turned the screen red twice on 3 v1 cuts and couldn't fly a published missed.

On the other hand, I have sat nonfly for some type rides that I was sure was a bust if not borderline. The APD passed them. So you can loose the "they are out to get you" drama.

Alot of the failures are because people who have never flown the crj come in with the attitude "if I can fly a complex Q/Saab the jet will be a breeze since all you do is push buttons"
