Thanks for the answer bla, what epuipment/base did you get and what was the hiring process like? I'm about to submit my resume in the next few days (1200 TT/ 550multi-525 multi-turbine) but would really only jump ship to get on a turbo-jet since I'm already on the Dash.

I was hired into the bro, and based in cal. The hiring process is very straight forward, check out willflyforfood.cc for a gouge. Really pretty easy, just be prepared. Yeah you should get the rj.
Good luck.

Is the upgrade under 6 years yet? I think that might play into people applying

From what I've read here it seems like SKYW tells you even before you start what equipment and what base you will get?? Please confirm.

Any info on what the procedure is at XJT? What is the junior/likely base for new-hire?
Procedure at XJT is everyone gets the jet. You find out your base near the end of training, depending on when there is a system bid and what not. Most likely base is a crapshoot. My class in March got split between EWR and IAH with most guys getting what they wanted. The class ahead of us all got sent to CLE, the class behind us all got EWR. It varies quite a bit. Right now it seems like they are just backfilling CLE since no one really wants to be there except for the guys who are already there so everytime there is a perm bid its all CLE FOs going to either EWR or IAH.

Whats the hard on for PIC time anymore anyway??? There are so many airlines out there hiring RJ first officers with ZERO turbine PIC.

Heck, alot of airlines now dont even have a turbine PIC requirement.
i.e. Cal, Frontier, Spirit....

Default Too experienced

I was told "see ya" as well at AE. I noted that another experienced pilot was also told to re-apply. Is it just me or is AE looking for low time pilots that they can mold?
(5,000 hrs myself)

AE: Yeah, I dropped that interview after meeting a few applicants at other interviews. They don't appear to be looking for anyone with an ATP, that's for sure! And the interview/physical is like applying for NASA. Curious, right?

Its easier to brainwash little sky nAAzis when they are just pleased as punch to be sitting in the pointy end of a big shiny jet
