"till I see it officially announced I won't believe it" ...

I could on about further word on the remaining aircraft, but if I say what is known...
half of you would say, it hasn't been made official so till then rah rah rah.

"The 10 planes that will be in the ExpressJet Corporate Aviation fleet come from the retained aircraft. ExpressJet will announce plans for the other 59 aircraft, when it reports third-quarter earnings on Nov. 8, ExpressJet's Nicholas said"

Don't know how much this helps....

I understand the press release came out today. The actual Expressjet Corporate WEB SITE has been online since September 26, 2006.

In fact, there is a post on www.flightinfo.com pointing to the web site on October 5th, 2006, 12 days prior to the press release today.

But believe what you want to believe, seriously.

Good luck on finding homes for the 59 planes. Personally I think adding these 10 to the corporate fleet is a way XJT management is saying "we didn't find homes for all of them". At least we have a date (Nov. 8) to look forward to. The stock is down today in light of this news so I have a feeling others feel the same way.

I'm not anti-XJT, just anti-leave-your-job-to-go-to-ExpressJet-right-now. ExpressJet is a great company with great people including several friends of mine.

This is a perfect example of why not to believe more the 25% of what anyone says on forum boards.

Almost every airline stock is down today. Some much worse on a percentage basis than XJT. Southwest is down, Fed Ex is down. So What! Talk about misinformed!

Excellent point! If you look at the data it shows a spike in trading immediately after the announcement and a decrease in share price.

Initial reaction was negative (knee-jerk?), now it's bounced back. If XJT can pull this off it honestly gives me more hope for the other feeders.

Sorry Foster, but you've succumbed to a basic logical error: The assumption that because one thing follows another that they are related or that one caused another. The total shares traded after the announcement may have been a spike, but so few shares were traded that correlation between the two events could never be proven. In addition as I said, most airline shares are down today (as of this moment). In fact, total volume for the day is around the average.

We have to wait to see what the institutional investors will do. If we see a consistent trend downward in value over the next quarter, then MAYBE your statement may have merit. The institutional investors will drive the value of the shares, and they will not buy or sell based on this information, which was widely known for several months now.

Why can't they do that for their current customers? A coach seat is a coach seat. TV will distract you, but you're still sitting in a small seat in a small plane. Yes, I know what I'm saying. I have 5000 PIC in the 145's and I've done the charter flights. All airlines do charters, so I don't see the big deal or change.

Because their current customers, (everyday airline passengers) will only pay for a seat, not an enhanced seat!

We were given the opportunity awhile back and where ready to go with it, but CAL said No we couldn't do it. We were going to be the launch customer for the XM in the aircraft but CAL blocked it so it went to Airtran.
