Please enlighten us on how someone constantly complaining about not getting an upgrade and then applying to Gojet to get it isnt a case of SJS. O and going to 9E expecting that same 1 year upgrade you bash Colgan for. You have your head so far up your a$$ and out of touch with reality it is not even funny.
Absolutely not! This post REEKS of SJS. You must be a young punk pilot in his 20s who upgraded on the Q in 1 year, and now disappointed that a mainline carrier hasn't hired you. You CAN do something. Go picket when mainline pilots have events. Support their cause! I really think mainline guys are done giving up scope, and should not fall for those stupid carrots anymore. Those 900s should be flown at the legacy airline level. For Pete's sake, Air Canada has got it right! They gave out the 700s/900s to Air Canada Jazz but every single EMB-170/175/190 is at mainline Air Canada. In fact, the entry-level position at Air Canada is on the Embraer 170/175. That's how it should have been here. Instead, we have Republic the world's largest operator of "E-Jets"
You know what? I actually hope we at 9E lose all the Qs and the CRJ-900s. I hope mainline takes that flying back! Do you realize that Delta pilots have a published payrate for the bigger RJs? Regionals should never have expanded beyond the 50 seat market, but now that it has, I look forward to it getting cut back. Take the greater than 70 seaters back to mainline, and let the regionals operate the 50 seaters or less. Then as time continues and the 50 seaters become less efficient, right-size the regionals by having them park a portion of the 50-seater fleet. After 9/11 we had a huge disproportionate amount of growth in 50 seater RJs. It's time to take that back. Regionals should shrink, some should disappear altogether, and the bigger RJs should be operated by mainline. Sure AA will have to operate the 900, but it should be AA pilots that do it! Only those pilots willing to whhore themselves out (like you) say something stupid like you would be ticked off if your regional didn't bid for that flying. If that's how you truly feel, then you don't get it!

I know who you are ShyGuy. I'll make sure to introduce myself the next time I see you around Detroit. I'll let you decide if I'm some "young PUNK pilot" as you so kindly put. Get over yourself. Who runs the 900 for Air Canada and what are they flying now? Its happening and in your current position there is nothing you can do about it. The RLA guarantees that. You cry and whine all over these boards yet you don't even volunteer in the union. You want things to change then volunteer to make your change instead of your entertaining tantrums on a web board. If we park the Q's and the 900's then you would be back on reserve sitting pretty in the crew room and some other REGIONAL would be flying them. Last time I checked a 900 and a 175 have the same seats, so once again your argument is flawed. Not to mention your attempt at GoJet and an early upgrade here at 9E. You can still get your upgrade at GoJet so why don't you do us all a favor and bow out. No one respects your opinion on these boards so quit wasting your time.
As for Air Canada, only a very limited amount of CRJ700s/900s are operated by Jazz. The entire Embraer fleet is operated at the mainline level at Air Canada. You see in Canada, they don't suffer from regional pilot sell-outs who crave to fly bigger RJs. They realize their careers lie at the major-level, and do their best to ensure they protect the flying. I know a couple Jazz pilots, and not one of them wanted the EMB-170/175/190s at their airline! They all wanted that aircraft to go to mainline Air Canada. Unlike you, preaching that you want your airline to bid on bigger RJ flying!

Oh I volunteered once but the good ol' boys club kept me out. And if we park the Qs, Saabs, and ATL 900s, I'm still high enough on the list to not be on reserve. Remember, half your Colgan group did well on the SLI, the other half did not. The quotas help you, but those will be meaningless once those fleets are parked. The Colgan pilots can displace out 9E guys but only up to a certain point, 541 must be 9E Captains on the -200.

But the line has to be drawn somewhere. Air Canada pilots were able to limit the numbers of 700s/900s at Jazz, and were able to fight and win the EMB bigger RJs to be at the mainline level. The fact you defend the topic by saying they are the same size shows me you still don't get it. A line needs to be drawn somewhere, and the Canadians did it perfectly. I can't even count how many 700s, 900s, E170s, 175s, 190s in the US are operated by the regionals. Oh wait yes I can, all of them!

q upgrades were at a minimum 3.5 - 4 years, not 2, they were in fact the longest upgrades that cjc ever had. not ****ing on the scope word but continental express flew the atr-72, thats one more seat then we have now so....traditionally i guess it could be a express plane, but would agree it would be nice to see it mainline, esp operating between citys like nyc/dc/bos, traditional shuttle runs for legacy's.
