782, your naivety is astounding. You may not be a new hire but you post like one. EAS contracts can be eliminated at a whim, just like Delta did, prove that you are running them at a loss and they are gone. The US government would kill to dump them as well. The Saab feed for United could be dumped without even being noticed by United. Dump the Saabs, furlough the staffing and bring them back to fill in as our situation improves. There would be VERY few out of seniority furloughs.

Ummmmm WRONG, you have absolutely NOOOO clue what you are talking about. EAS routes can NOT be eliminated on a whim. The service must be continued until a new carrier is selected. Here, let me show you:

Nope.... I'm sticking with what I said. 782 wants to hold onto hope that the Saab and his seat will have to stay because of EAS. I still say that those contracts that you want to stake your claim in don't mean spit. I get that another carrier must be found... Delta proved that it takes about a month to replace an EAS carrier.

And YES I am a pilot that does advocate furlough. If furloughing a few saves the jobs of many. I would even wager to say that 75% of the seniority feels the same way. Its an airline not a charity.

Dude, seriously, you're wrong AGAIN!!!! If you would go to the website you would see that the request for proposals was posted on November 23, 2011 and as of today, February 12, 2012 there STILL has not been a replacement. I'm not so good at math but I'm pretty sure November to February is longer than one month.. Seriously, get your facts straight!
