cool glasses
They were needed when people flew in windoless cockpits where the wind hit your face so fast, altering ones vision, not wearing them resulted in ones one death. I dont wear Oakleys's by the way, but they do look nice on some people, depending on face structure. Some people look funny on them others dont. Look at TomC in TpGun. My point is wear them if you want, its a free country. I wear these cool glasses.

I'm a CFI, so whatever sunglasses are on sale at Wal-Mart are good enough for me.
I agree though, some pilots should take a little bit more pride in the way they present themselves. Looking professional is part of acting like one.
After I completed my CFI checkride, the FSDO examiner went to spontaneously ramp check a guy because he was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops.

Hey no excuses for me, I pride myself on looking professional, and I believe I do. In general you get what you pay for. Hence the backpacks, overweight, untrimmed hair, etc. I was on a flight the other day with my wife and commented on how stupid the fo looked with his bright blue okleys doing a walkaround. What must the pax think?
