Default Great Lakes Interview

I have a interview in about two weeks. Has anyone interviewed recently? Looks like Great Lakes is on the up with receiving EAS routes into MSP. I would assume they are gearing up on hiring.

Yeah...barely break-even, taxpayer funded routes will pay Raytheon right off.

In fact, Raytheon will probably just forgive the debt because Lakes is doing the "right thing" by flying people who are too lazy to drive 2 hours.

I just interviewed. Was not what I expected. Read the gouge make sure you know jepps and relax. I couldn't relax and it got the best of me. Prolly won't get the offer, but I can't complain.

$15k a yr
You pay everything to get out to the interview.
No pay during training
$7500 15month training contract.
I was told to expect all the outstation basing, but you maybe able to hold DEN in 6 months.

If you are ok with that then go ahead, but realize $15k is jack for money even if you worked for the better regionals it's really not much money. I've been taking major life assessments about getting into this career. At least in the economy were in.

This was/is a huge concern for me. You get stuck with a 15 month contract that requires you to come back if you get furloughed. If they lose planes and have to furlough and you go elsewhere you best either A. Save $7500 to pay Lakes or B. Get ready to go back to Lakes.

Do they prorate the contract lets say if you leave in 10 months?

I think so, but don't quote me. As soon as I walked out of that interview I dumped it from my memory. That was my first interview ever and when I walked out the door I felt like I shouldn't even have a pilots license anymore lol.
