Great Lakes Interview
#13
I studied a ton prolly too much. I was asked a mix of items I knew and didn't know, nice folk; but I felt very unprepared as I walked out of that interview. I just felt so stupid not knowing in my opinion basic items hence I walked out feeling nothing.

Think you could give me a write-up? I'm going in a few weeks for the experience and I'd love any prep I can get... everything from what it was like when you arrived at the hotel to the handshake at the end. Any questions you can remember or things they said at the interview that caught you off guard? Did they look at your transcripts and grades or driving record and question them in the interview? Did they say anything during the interview that made you feel like it was going bad? If you can shoot me an email at [email protected] I can't PM yet.

Not only is the training contract not prorated, they charge you interest. Near the end of the term, it would be close to $9,000 that you'd owe.

Well I am not there anymore so I don't know about upgrades and turnover when I left it was a couple of years. The latest end time was 5:30 which was nice but almost all trips started 7-10am as far as commuting.

Lines have been very, well lets say dynamic on show times. This month almost everything in DEN showed between 10 and 11 a.m... Next month 4 of 5 of my trips show after 13:00. I believe that there are only a few of us who commute from the eastern time zone so it is doable but it's an adventure (not the fun kind) and I've been here awhile. Remember that reserve is almost always a 0800 start time and Denver is the senior base now, only one person from the last new hire class could hold it. There is no real way to commute day of to the outstation bases for reserve unless you live in driving distance. Take home message, plan to commute day before and after for awhile until attrition picks up significantly.
