Mesaba closing two DTW locations!
Sounds like it's just a matter of time when everything will move to MEM. No surprise.

The second "location" is that the Mesaba pilots and flight attendants will become Pinnacle pilots and flight attendants. That also makes sense to me.
I suggest reading the details of the article before freaking out and posting on here. All of this was known before and is part of any merger. Plus, no jobs are leaving the area. The last time I talked to the Mesaba mechanics, most were getting job offers at Delta and leaving regardless of what happens.

For those losing jobs or having to re-apply hence losing seniority and years of service, I'm very sorry. However if you have paid attention to the last few earnings reports this place is bleeding. In order to get back on the green train we've got to consolidate and eliminate some redundancy, this is smart business.

The first location they're closing is the Mesaba hangar and moving all the MX to the bigger Pinnacle hangar. That makes sense to me.

I'm pretty sure the hangar consolidation was already done.

There are a lot more people working at this company than just crew members. There are many jobs being consolidated due to redundancy - i.e. each individual company has 5 accountants but after a merger/acquisition or whatever...the new combined company only needs 8 accountants; resulting in two jobs lost.
