[QUOTE=CzechAirman;1077939]You sound jealous and envious of the opportunity afforded these candidates to get the path to their dream job at Delta. I think this will be the way majors hire civilian pilots in the future. Civilian ab-initio university program pilots and military pilots will feed their
Hardly, I am sure you can figure out why if you do a little searching. Just pointing out the facts.

That candidate that still has to pay all course fees (I'm guessing $100K+) to pursue a job offer that's extremely narrow in scope, not to mention the $23/hr starting salary. This is the job market equivelelnt of being upside down on your house with 2nd and 3rd mortgages. The extraordinary expense to train oneself to be so narrowly attractive to a potential employer with few tangible skills outside the program is lunacy.
I think the actual number at places like UND and ERAU is north of $200K when you factor in the advanced jet classes and simulators.

Maybe if you factor in every penny from day one to when you walk down the aisle at graduation. Tuition and books is prolly 100K, but housing and food I can see being another 30k-40k

Yea, obviously no real understanding of how these things work. You make it sound like it would only be a couple years in the right seat and then off to Delta it is! Do you have any idea how many current, extremely qualified captains are waiting for Delta to start hiring. This is 100% a marketing tool used by the school to hopefully increase enrollment. As said above, there will be little to NO benefit to those that end up in this program (with regard to a Delta mainline position).
You make it sound like you are entitled to an interview at Delta because you have been waiting longer. The program gives the candidate an interview at Delta, so regardless of how long you have been waiting, the candidate might interview before you do.

I never said entitled, but you would be a fool to argue that a CA with 5-10+ years experience in the left seat alone isn't more qualified than someone coming from this program. That is just absurd. From where we stand right now, most people that have been waiting longer are 100% more experienced, and if you choose to use the word, entitled to receive a job at Delta, or any legacy for that matter.
