Default AA/AE Walkup jumpseat ability?

If we can't do it, should they be able to?

I think you have to call 1-800-weflyaa and list yourself. I don't believe any agents allow walk ups.

This number is shut down from 02:45 am until 09:00 am Eastern time, agents have been instructed in this case to create a listing for you.
Anyone actually heard of an agent making a listing for you when 888-weflyaa was shut down for the evening?

Supposedly they have an online system available now but I've yet to talk to anyone who has used it.

You can walk up. My old man did it twice in 3 days without any flack.

I'm not sure if they allow walk ups or not, maybe with a healthy dose of social engineering. But if they are busy, I wouldn't expect too much. There was one occasion where I called and listed the night before, showed up for the early departure the next morning to find out the res agent spelled my name wrong. And since it didn't match my ID, they couldn't allow it. They told me to call the res line and make a new listing. Bear in mind, this was in the morning before the line even opens up. I begged an pleaded to see if they could change it, and they did. But you'd think the agent was rewriting the ENTIRE sabre code with the amount of typing it took just to change get it done.

My company has it, it's accessed through ifc.id90.com, and it's great. No more of the of the above issues. As far as your company's password, hopefully you can contact your pass bureau or your JS chair to get to it. Just fill out a couple screens with the usual info that's asked over the phone and your confirmation number is emailed to you.

Yes you can list through ifc.1d90.com and it's simple. You use ur company's to letter code, so for an American pilot it would be "AA" and in the username you would put "aaemp" and the password is the 3 digit accounting number which for AA is 001.

I have had luck with some agents that would list at the gate but it was painful to get them to do so and it wasn't easy either, it seemed like they were running a background check on you. AA does not have the best system to list you, I like United's where they ask u ur employee number and two letter airline code and boom it's done!

AA/AE for jumpseating sucks! Worst airline ever to try to non-rev on, period. Avoid them like the plague. Fly SWA

I have listed at the gate several times at ORD, of all places. I just explained to them I didn't expect to be in so early and they were cool about it.

As far as the whole AA/AE jumpseat proceedure and whether AA/AE pilots should have to do the same. In short, no. AA has made it more difficult to list, no the crew members. They are trying to get home, just like us and who wants to see this turn in to another management-made mess where, once again, the pilots take the brunt end for it.
