All new hires (most likely) from now on will be going to the Saab (subject to change as in anything in this industry.)
The company puts out a vacancy that says they need (say 10) of new hires in the CRJ and (say 5) in the Saab. Everybody who is not held to a seat lock is able to bid what they wish. Most people are bidding over to the CRJ as it pays more than the Saab for 2nd year + pay. So then you now have 15 new hires going to the Saab when all is said and done.
This is pretty much it in a nutshell, however everything is so dynamic right now with displacements/reductions, etc.

Two years for transition as an fo and one year for upgrade. But you could easily be displaced if you are a recent new hire and when you are displaced seat locks go out the window.
