The main reason why XJ will probably win the majority of these elections is because pilots do not want anymore of the "PCL MEC" way.

How did the "smell blood, go all in against the company" work out for PCL? How many years in negotiations? How long on ice? How many unresolved grievances?

At least the PCL MEC Chair got his 125 hour monthly buy out...to serve the pilots that is...

MEC chair doesn't get 200% pick ups, per diem etc.
You need to pay appropriately to get quality people- I figured you would know that coming from Colgan... Look who y'all have attracted of the years...

Yeah, look at who we have attracted...now we are going for your jets

All your jets are belong to us.....

Also, the MEC chair does get per diem in the form of meal allowance, $61 tax free pay for every day they are in Memphis or even more while in higher priced cities doing "union work," plus Diamond status at the Doubletree.

The previous PCL MEC chair had a average monthly rate of 128+ credit hours before he went on buy. While on buy he was "bought" at 115 due to the previous 12 month average and a 115 cap. As far as Perdiem- the previous chair never filed expense reports for Perdiem, that's an XJ thing.

9L followed XJ around because XJ spent more money on "entertainment" than 9E did. 9L was "bought" by the XJ MEC. I saw it with my own eyes. He who pays, gets their way. Don't worry- it was your dues at work. I never thought having ice cream catered to a meeting and getting picked up in commercial buses to dinner would happen at a union meeting. I always thought vending machines and a local place for dinner was "normal". I guess that wasn't good enough.

When the MEC officer elections come around, remember that the XJ guy last flew the avro. Thats up to date with the line pilot. Politics suck. Someone needs to focus on just getting the job done.

Well said higney!
It's so comical ... 9L likes the XJ guys meanwhile XJ didn't blink twice before asking for them to get screwed in SLI!

No, 9L likes communication and being made aware of what's going on. I'm sure 9E has many good guys in their union, but their merger committee didn't know how to communicate. We got fastreads even if to say nothing new happened.

Ice Cream had nothing to do with the fact that XJ and 9L are unified in more areas than 9E is. Funny thing is if the 9E MEC spent more time trying to work together and less apart, things would be much better for more 9E pilots.

Imagine is 9E went with XJ on the DOH proposal? Bloch probably would have gone with it and all these displacements would not be felt by PCL pilots and PCL FOs would be upgrading into their jets instead of watching 9L pilots bid them and XJ pilots get displaced into them. 9E's MEC was more concerned with fighting with XJ than working on the best solution for their pilots.

If 9E and XJ would have come to an agreement in the SLI, Colgan would have been screwed. Thankfully, they didn't

You might want to take a step back there, Higney. Let's make one thing PERFECTLY CLEAR, not one 9L MEC member was "bought" by XJ, or 9E for that matter. One of the mistakes both 9E and XJ's MEC's have made so far is to underestimate the 9L MEC. Just because we're a newer group, doesn't mean we're naive or unable to think for ourselves. Ice cream and busses, please.

BS. The word "bought" came from one of your own on the MEC calling me in anger over reality with your fellow group. Cruise, we've met, I'm not part of the MEC anymore. Never will be again. You can refute and play the "back and forth" argument or you can prove otherwise. I have nothing to lose by posting the truth.

I am about to lose my CA seat when I was flirting with a line in DTW and waiting to be based back "home". I get to go back to FO and wait. To say I'm ****ed is an understatement. I'm done with the politics and smoke and mirrors. I've played the game, I didn't sleep well because of it. The truth is all that should ever be discussed.
