Bid closes sep 8th. Flying starts Jan. My guess is not as popular as SEA/PDX.. We already have a TUS base so im sure some of those guys will jump on it.. TUS does'nt have the best trips... ( not being a hub ).. They said they wont force people there, fill open slots with upgrades and newhires.
Lately, Tucson has had some of the best pairings in the system... Or do you think a local that credits 8:40 is not one of "the best trips"???

I feel more sorry for the people in the bases that were closed for no reason!

For the sake of clarity, Its 90 pilots total, 45 in each seat.
SeaTown, our entire PPM is built on precedence and tribal knowledge. I hate it, but learn to work within the system you were hired into. SkyWest is not a stepping stone for everyone, but it is a regional and issues like this are inherent in a company that has built its model around people moving on. If you want a seat on certain equipment, you're better off bidding the most junior base and transferring when able. Look at the awards, hundreds of guys have done just that this year. Of course they don't like it either, but SkyWest has made it very evident how this process works.
Is it fair that I woke up in a nice hotel room with a free breakfast, while millions world wide wake up with no shelter or prospects for food? No. And yet I bet they complain much less than some pilots. Every company has their way of doing things, take whatever action you can (file a PIC with SAPA) then either leave or let it go. I bet you're a nice guy, I'd happily enjoy telling ya this over a beer, but for your sake you gotta reconcile yourself to what isn't gonna change.

P.S. I'm pretty pleasant at work due to all the awesome frontline employees i work with. My attitude here is primarily focused toward mgmt.

If only there was an organized group created to stand up for pilots rights while making sure the pilot contract is followed. oo yea, its called a UNION. Not that they make everything better, but they certainly make life a little easier. I honestly don't know how you guys make it in this industry without representation. You need to experience how good it feels when the company tells you to do something and you can say NO and then point to the contract. Job protected, have a nice day.

I guess we'll see if that sentiment has changed dramatically after the next drive. I suspect that it has, if only a little bit. I myself am anti- union and I'm sure that will be held against me for the rest of my career. I'm not going to sit back and be intimidated into pretending otherwise. I signed on with a non-union carrier for a reason.
BTW: It isn't transition to the RJ time, it's open a new RJ base time. PHX will not be an EMB base. Was that what we're concerned about?
Here comes the flak...

Actually the 8:40 credit pairing I was referring to credits over 2 and 1/2 hours more than any of the locals in my base, and has about 2 hours less duty time. It doesn't show at 0500, and it gets off well before 2300. One of my former fo's was showing me his trip and it showed around 0800, and was done by about 1900 or a little there after if I remember correctly...

Probably as thrilled as ANY other pilot group when the mainline partner has decided to shift flying around and/or downsize one regional provider and take on a new one or expand an existing one. It's played out many times in the past. Also, I'm sure the ASA/COMAIR guys are thrilled that a new DCI carrier has been brought into the fold.
Yikes, that's nothing but a bucket of suck for the 120 guys if true
What's the max scheduled duty day per the SkyWest policy manual thing? As well as the the minimum domicile rest that must be given between pairings?
