I got the Strongbag after my PNT bag got to be to cost prohibitive to refurbish. I like the bag but my only real complaint is it sometimes does not fit into the bin handle or wheels first. Actually, I have never gotten it to fit wheels first and I have less than 100% success with the handle first. Sometimes it has to go into the bin sideways. As a commuter this is a hassle. The airbus it always seems to have to go sideways and the 737/757 is a mixed bag. Good bag but about 1/2" too tall sometimes!

I have a 20 inch and a 22 inch travelpro. I routinely pack for 8+ days in the 22, and use the 20 for anything less than 5 days. I have had one for over 5 years and the other for almost 3, and would highly recommend the product. The only complaint is the wheels. They suck. I bought a package of cheap rollerblade wheels and have had zero problems once they were replaced. Also, since I commercial a lot and check my bags, the zipper pulls tend to disappear.

Finally, I would make sure the bag comes with the wire flight bag hook and not the plastic variety. I know travelpro has good flight crew pricing, and they are worth checking out. Not as tough as the luggage works, but VERY durable and one third the price. Flight Crew 2, replace the wheels. You will be happy for a long time.

I got the Stealth 22" not directly from Luggage works, but from "the Stop Over Store". Get it through them! It will cost you less, they have added several extras that are costly options if you buy direct from LW. Stablizer strap(sp), non pleated face, Laptop pocket(just no protective insert). I had mine refurbished after 9 years of regional abuse(rails, handle kick plate and a couple of zippers were all that were needed) it is an expensive bag, but worth every penny(and every heavy ounce!!!! that bag just doesn't break!) I can pack my 22" for 12 days(just takes some creative positioning), so packing for a 4 to 6 day trip is a cake walk.

Travel Pro does not hold up as well as they use to, and their support is no longer as good. I had a Victoronox bag before my PNT(nee LW bag) it lasted 7 months, and cost nearly 100 bucks more!

Good luck with your decision, and enjoy flying the ERJ it's a fun bird.

Dude!? Do you work for them? LOL Who puts their laptops in that pocket anyways? Can you say "CRUNCH!" Anyway I vote for the stealth 22" its the best bang for the buck! Also, does anyone know which company gives away the free plastic bag tag with your airplane on it?

Actually the best place to buy the Stealth 22 is definatly www.flybystore.com, you can get a stealth 22 with a stabilzer strap (if you really want it) for the same price as the non-stabilizer strap version while stopoverstore charges more. The laptop pocket is useless as its not padded on any stealth bag except the stealth 22 computer. The stealth bag also comes with much better freebies at flybystore. Free shipping, free monogrammed handle, free ballistic handle wrap, and a free crew tag that you can customize with your own airplane and airline on the front and whatever info you want on the back. (it looks really cool). Flybystore also has a reward point program that you can use the points from buying the stealth to get some more free stuff with it.

Another reason that I support www.flybystore.com is that its owned and operated by regional pilots. I once walked into a stopoverstore and inquired about their hunt manufacturing flight cases (formerly coyote works). The guy in the store didn't even know that they sold those cases!
I ended up talking to one of the guys at flybystore who actually uses the case on the line and was able to give me alot of good advice and info.

That's the one I have and haven't had a single issue with it. I see a fair number of guys with the same bag - including mainline. The thing I like about it the most is if there are any issues, you just take it to a Costco anywhere and they give you a new one. No repair orders or receipts or anything, new bag out the door. I've had mine close to a year now, it's holding up just fine, no issues at all. If I did have to change one thing though it'd be the strap for your flight kit. It's removable (like most rollerboards). My last one was actually sewn onto the bag which was nice since it meant you couldn't lose it.
