In these past storms I hear republic FO's trying to figure out how they will pay their bills that month since they lost 15 hrs off thier check due to cancelations.

Eagle is also hard to tell. I'm not up on their contract but I have a friend thats been there 8 years and if finally upgrading to Capt.

Take a long hard look at the contracts or ask questions on here that can make the difference in your life.
Not sure what you are talking about, if everything cancels, you would still get your guarantee here at Republic.

That being said, I've been here since 07 and I also would stay far away from this place. I think this company is heading for the financial abyss.

1.) who's class date is earlier? If eagle hasn't given you one that's a problem.
2.) RAH Will get a new contract soon, the company needs it done now too.

Every place has issues, get the most seniority that you can. That means hire date, get your butt into class.

Thank all of you for your respones, here is more about my situation:

I'm scheduled for a class with Eagle on March 28th bases & equipment not known yet untill the first day of ground school but the options are (EMB-145, ATR-72 or CRJ700).

one the other hand I'm schedule for a class on April 4th with Republic which I'm going for the EMB-145 (Chautauqua).

my career goals is to fly the big jets and to be honest with you I can't get to a decision yet...

I would go for republic if they gonna offer me the EMB-170 with Shuttle America but that is not the case now. I asked for this specific aircraft and was told that they will inform me incase they will have a place for me there.

Keep it going with your opinions, I really need advices!

Thanks

If the Eagle class date is first go to that. Bid to SJU and drink on the beach. If you live in one of the bases offered by either airline go with that.

I assume that you are 26yr old thanks to the 1985. Right??

If that's the case go to eagle, you will be able to choose which equipment and base you want to fly. For sure you will be somewhere in the middle of the list and you will have about 450 guys/gals below you by the end of the year.

Anyway if you fly for Chitacua will be flying the emb saying "American connection". I think "American Eagle", looks better in the plane.

You probably will be able to get the Crj700, if you really want a "big jet". I'm FO in the emb and like more short flights. The crj is more like a mainline.

Try to live in base, will make your life easier.

Does RJet still have a training contract, I know Eagle doesn't. You said you want to fly the big jets, if you're locked into a contract and (Omni, World, Atlas) a heavy jet operator offers you a position which company (RJET or Eagle) will put you in a better position to make a move? At the end of the day QOL is key and as many have snake above living in base is key. Look at the diversity (type of flying, bases, aircraft) of the two companies as well and ask yourself what your looking for in this category. Eagle offers international experience (sju base is extended over water ops, not etop) versus republic flys the latest and greatest in regional aircraft. Best of luck with your decision!
