Is the BOS base for Colgan a senior or junior base...meaning would a new hire be able to bid BOS?

Thanks.

The base if fairly mixed. The top portion is, however, the last 8 spots (I believe) on the roster are new hires - some of whom are still finishing training. With that being said; no, I don't believe a new hire based elsewhere would be able to bid BOS. There is a current FO vancacy open and there are no BOS positions. Obviously one could open if someone decided to transfer, but now the company does not even guarantee filling of secondary vacancies.

All 6 Saab spots in my class (4/11) went to BOS, but I think the problem a new hire would have with bidding it is not that it's particularly senior or junior but that it's just so small. 40ish pilots total, if I'm not mistaken. I know at least a couple of the guys in my class had talked about getting out and going to IAH or IAD eventually, but they very well may have changed their minds if they got up there and liked it.

If they do decide to bid out I know there are 3 or 4 "senior" guys that will be there to take the vacancy, but anything can happen.

An fo can transfer bases (not equipment) at any time without a vacancy bid (there must be an available spot). You just need to put in for it. its one of the pluses of the new contract.

They should already be a your base for you to pick up otherwise, you should be able to download it from the ALPA website.
