Hey Van Driver,

Someone shot me a link recently (for my nephew who is in flight training) that you and the other new Colgan guys should maybe check out - especially if you are getting Saab slots:

Estonian Air Regional SAAB 340 | Viking Aviation Photo

Yeah, that Flight Attendent is far hotter than anyone you will see on a Colgan Saab.

We have a few cuties...

But you won't see a plane as clean as that (especially the cockpit), and we never power back.

Its official...we all got the SAAB. Some are a little disappointed not to get the the Q. I was actually kind of hoping for it. It could be a blessing in disguise. Sounds like most upgrades to the left seat are into the SAAB and its much easier to get through a Captain upgrade if you already are familiar with the airplane.

Once you learn to fly the Swedish Blender you'll be able to learn any airplane. The systems wacky but just pay attention, study, and you'll be fine.

I noticed that too. It's been awhile for me, but I never heard of any US operator approved to do power backs.

Sr CA, Jr FO. That's at least what some of the guys at the hotel here in STL for PCs or transitions are saying. All 6 of the Saab guys in my class are going there.

All new hires are probably going to go to BOS and IAD. In the vacancy bid, they wanted 21 fo's in BOS and got 10. I'm still debating on going there myself as I could hold a line there but the commute sucks. (FO's can switch bases at any time if there is an opening.) They also have IAH FO's coming up to IAD to cover our open time.

Another good video out there can be found on Youtube. Just search "****in in the wind saab style". I think you will all enjoy it... and welcome to the saab trash club... if you get lucky enough to get IAH you will get to meet most of the characters that post on here.

Based on my last trip, we need Saab FOs everywhere, but especially IAD. I essentially worked 2 FO schedules in 1 trip. It was absurd.
