You think the fences will come down that fast? I'm not disagreeing, I just have no concept of how quickly they would get things coming together, what with uniforms and differences training, etc. Wouldn't we all have to go through a shortened Mesaba indoc of sorts? Seems like a pretty big undertaking. I honestly have no idea how it's all going to work out, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm sure it goes both ways too, with some senior Pinnacle FOs wanting to get into the left seat of anything, including the Saab. I feel like finishing SLI and actually making us one, whole, interchangeable pilot group are two very different things with totally different time tables. Also, I could be way off base here too, but I thought somewhere in the contract where Mesaba Saab drivers hired before a certain date were working on a higher wage scale.

I agree that it won't happen overnight. I was referring to more down the road. All the questions/assumptions you raise are the same ones we have my friend

Default Colgan / Mesaba

I had my interview with Mesaba on 4/20. I got a call yesterday offering me the job, unfortunately HR said that the May 23rd class has been cancelled and the May 9th class is full. Has anyone heard on if they plan on hiring more people eventually? For now I am in a pool until they figure things out.

Probably won't announce anything until after the merger of our pilot list or more flying comes our way.

Yea... when I read this I thought... no way.. The award is out and it looks like 12 spots for Lga Saab and no 900 for new hires.. Unless I missed something.

I don't quite understand the theory behind the class cancellations. Here at 9L we are WAY understaffed on the Q FO side of things....especially in IAH. No reserve lines and everyone is forced to fly 85-90 hour lines with all 4 day trips, with an increase in overall flying throughout May and June. I've even heard of flight cancellations due to lack of crews. How is any class cancellation a good idea?! Something tells me the whole SLI thing won't be the "golden solution to the staffing problem" like they think it is now that all XJ furloughees have been recalled. Anyone have any ideas as to what "big brother" PNCL Corp is up to?

Class cancellation=flight cancellation=one ****ed off codeshare partner.

May not be anymore Colgan classes. May all be Mesaba classes now.

Wouldn't get too shook up over the class "cancellation". The 23rd was intended to be a CRJ class. They shifted the CRJ dates some with the award but the class is still taking place with pilots that were already on property.

Magnus, it would be a safe assumption that management is waiting to set any other class dates until SLI is sorted out to avoid the costs associated with multiple training/reinstatement events. Don't hold your breath waiting to hear anything before then. You'll just have to wait things out with the rest of us... The sky isn't falling, yet.

Help is on the way (eventually). Me and 11 other Q new hires are going to IAH. We have a week of systems to go and will hopefully be in IOE by late May/early June.
