Thanks that's what I figured and since I will be a new hire (hopefully) the integration of the seniority lists won't make much of a difference. I guess I'll still look forward to the interview and hope that the gouge for colgan is accurate since the mesaba one is almost 3 years old...

This could go either of 2 ways IMO. First would be what has already been said in this thread. You are being hired to what is currently known as Mesaba. This would give you a position in the Saab, 200, or 900. I don't think that Mesaba is short on people though, so I wouldn't expect this as the outcome.
My guess on this is that Colgan will no longer do any hiring. New hires from this point forward would be getting hired to the new Mesaba for positions on the planes that are currently Colgan. It would probably be pretty hard to merge the certificates if Colgan still has people in training.

Wow, are you already complaining? It sounds like you are complaining. You haven't even gone through two weeks of class and have yet to sit in a cockpit. Good job newbie, I knew you had it in you. You'll make a good pilot.

Plan on the Saab if you get hired with Mesaba...it's safe to assume the 200 and 900 vacancies will be mopped up by those already on property that have been displaced or are looking for a change of scenery.
Colgan's current classes are filled with guys that won't be done with training until after SLI (assuming the Arbitrator actually sums things up by 5/15). Someone in managament wised up enough to start hiring directly to XJ's ticket to help streamline things. Word is that most XJ procedures and FOM language will stay put. As a result, Mesaba will be spending quite a bit of money, time, and resources getting all of the current Colgan pilots up to snuff with the differences.
Why not save the hassle and get it done from day one? It's nothing but good news for anyone sitting under the Pinnacolaba umbrella. Any hiring is good hiring, and now is as good a time as ever to join the party with the hiring numbers they are projecting.
