Logbook reviews?

"logbook correction: addition error, pg. #" and then for the category that you messed up on write -1.5 or whatever the time was. include that it your totals at the bottom, so if you had 20 hours that page I would write in 20 - 1.5 (18.5) or something like that in the total box at the bottom.
Now I found a few other mistakes!!! Blah! It's a vicious cycle. Thanks for guiding me in the right direction, guys.

I think the whiteout is ok as long as you use it for the total lines only. For instance if you added up the totals for a page incorrectly and catch your mistake a few pages later it is ok to white out the page total and put the correct one for each affected page. You'll be ok as long as the regular line items are not touched.

Good point, SGR- thats where i've got a few whiteout marks in my book. Should have switched to writing down my totals in pencil a long time ago.
Do any of you know if XJT will count full motion sim (logged the FAA identifier along with the sim number) to my total time? Unfortunately, that's how I sent it in my resume- without even asking if that's how they want it.

I've never counted sim time, full motion or not, towards total time. In fact, none of my sim time at XJT is logged in my personal logbook Seems like a bad idea. Why go down that path unless you have like 400 hours of full motion sim time? Mine is in the "Flight Simulator" column and no where else. If they want to know how much sim time you have, theyll ask. Otherwise it seems like misrepresenting your total "flight" time if you include sim time, IMHO.

i have been in the process of tranferring everything in my paper logbooks to an electronic log book...
anyone have any gouge on how an electronic log book is viewed. my military time is all logged electronically, so i thought i would do the same for my civilian time.
i still will maintain the paper copies of my actual signoffs, endorsements, etc...but i was wondering if anyone has any info on how the airlines look at electronic log books..
thanks!

The FAA used to have a very good FAQ word doc on their website that was done by Alan Pinkston among others at FAA in Washington. This was discussed at length and was clearly defined as above. Unfortunately the FAA removed the FAQ from its site.
