Are you still at SkyWest? Last I hear you were leaving for greener land.

Keep in mind, you probably will NOT be eligible for any sort of FMLA until you have a year of service with a company. Another thing to consider is that seniority progression, for the most part, is pretty stagnant at most carriers. Eagle may become the exception, but I would guess you still have quite a bit of seniority to accrue before you can expect that kind of schedule.

LoL I've since discovered that the grass is, indeed, always greener

For now though, I'm on Military Leave...looking forward to getting back!

It is do-able at ExpressJet. On reserve I was regularly bidding for reserve lines with 5 days off at a time, or at the very least do the last 3-4 days of the month off, then the first 3-4 of the next month off.

This month was my first month as a relief line holder (not a hard line, but not reserve), and I got a stretch of 9 days off in a row with no manipulation.

I am not saying it will always happen, but it can happen.

Sorry to hear about your Mom =/

It's doable right off the bat at Piedmont... reserve lines are built with a 4-day off block, plus 3 2-day off blocks to make 10. The 4-day block is golden, so you can't be extended/junior manned/etc. If you like, you can often (though not always) add to the 4 days by moving reserve days.

At ASA you can bid for 4 golden days off with 2 golden days off or 3 and 3 each month, and can also move reserve days around, although I haven't figured out how yet!

Is this at the expense of the rest of your days off, do you then have a few 6 on 1 off stretches? What's you seniority like? Are you on reserve?

Thanks in advance.
I was 40% in base at one company with PBS for about a year and I'd get about eight blocks per year of 8-12 days off each, plus many smaller ones of 4-6 days off.
