Number of days off in a row...

At SkyWest I could usually expect at least one good stretch of days off per month bidding mid-seniority in base...sounds like you ought to look into an airline that provides for easy scheduling manipulations (i.e. not Eagle). SkyWest is okay in that department, I'll let others tell ya what they've got...good luck :-)

Keep in mind, you probably will NOT be eligible for any sort of FMLA until you have a year of service with a company. Another thing to consider is that seniority progression, for the most part, is pretty stagnant at most carriers. Eagle may become the exception, but I would guess you still have quite a bit of seniority to accrue before you can expect that kind of schedule.

It is do-able at ExpressJet. On reserve I was regularly bidding for reserve lines with 5 days off at a time, or at the very least do the last 3-4 days of the month off, then the first 3-4 of the next month off.
This month was my first month as a relief line holder (not a hard line, but not reserve), and I got a stretch of 9 days off in a row with no manipulation.
I am not saying it will always happen, but it can happen.
Sorry to hear about your Mom =/

It's doable right off the bat at Piedmont... reserve lines are built with a 4-day off block, plus 3 2-day off blocks to make 10. The 4-day block is golden, so you can't be extended/junior manned/etc. If you like, you can often (though not always) add to the 4 days by moving reserve days.

Is this at the expense of the rest of your days off, do you then have a few 6 on 1 off stretches? What's you seniority like? Are you on reserve?

Hey guys,
Just wondering if there is any regional anywhere that I'd get 4 or 5 days off in a row at least once every four or five weeks, or am I living in a total dream land? I have a sick family member and I share a duty of care with my sister. I want to still be able to lend a helping hand every so often but she is overseas in the UK.
Thanks in advance.
