If you fly for Delta Connection and have a PPR number, when you request the jumpseat the system will automatically try to get you a seat at whatever priority you ride at as a non-rev. In this case you would keep your S3C priority to get a seat before any buddy pass people or if the flight filled up you would get the jumpseat before an OAL pilot. In the future just jumpseat if the flight is anywhere near full.

Because that is what the rule is. Doesn't matter if we think it's wrong or not. The vast majority of employees cannot jumpseat and the argument was that it was unfair for pilots to jumpseat. That is why the jumpseat did not exist at mainline til the mid 90's. Even today, there are some who think it's unfair and throw up roadblocks where they can. Most times, agents will look the other way and try to get you on one way or the other. Then there are the ones who don't like pilots.......

The system will not let the agent check me in as a jumpseater and non-rev. It's Delta policy.

As far as dual listing is concerned, in so far as I'm aware, the prohibition is limited to DL mainline pilots and not necessarily DCI carrier pilots. I'm reasonably sure it's governed by the JS agreement that your carrier has negotiated with DL. Hope this helps....

My experience as a DCI pilot is to simply list and activate your non-rev pass at a Kiosk. Once at the gate, simply ask to list for the jumpseat. If you think it's close, don't let them talk you out of it. If you neglect to mention that you've already checked in as a non-rev, they typically don't check and you will then be listed for both. However, if you mention that you've already checked in as a non-rev, they will typically cancel your non-rev pass. That being said, it you have checked in as a non-rev, and the gate agent seems quite hurried and busy, they will be much appreciative if you give them your non-rev pass to view, as it seems to make listing you for the jumpseat easier for them.
