In terms of places to eat, if you get put up in the Crystal Inn or any of our other downtown hotels, there are plenty of restaurants and fast food options. The hotel shuttle will also make runs to the grocery stores.

All the replies are great, thanks.
If those who have gone through the 120 training recently, ie current syllabus, what are the "catches" that you have encountered. In other words, if anyone has a piece of advice for a Skywest new hire, what would you like to have told yourself when you started?

I'd study flows and have them down pat long before you think of going to FTD. Use the cockpit mockup they have instead of those stupid paper trainers... If you can get access to a car then you'll have a much easier time getting to the hangar to study flows on the weekends. Our class had issues with the van on weekends.

Other than that, it's like any other airline training. Study your flows, profiles and limitations until they are hardwired into your brain.

Something big must be coming. Management just announced 80 new captain postions by November. Both EMB and RJ. Only 40 newhires planned at this time however. Seeing that our biggest shortage is on the FO side I'd have to imagine more newhires in the near future.
