ASA (SkyWest, Inc) officially is buying XJT

XJT's union is still going to take this to arbitration. We want one list across all three companies. Skywest is saying that ASA is a holding company within a holding company but what it all comes down to is what the arbitrator says.
So yeah if your management gets their way the status quo will remain and the potential for whipshaw will still be there. If we get our way ... one big happy family.
I think we will have a Republic type scenario when we are all said and done. Our contract is pretty straightforward on its intent.

What specifically does XJT's scope say on mergers?

Merging all the companies may still be the final plan for SKW. Doesn't mean they'll roll out the red carpet though. If they fight it they stand a good chance of getting concessions out of it just like Republic and Mesa when they integrated their pilots under one list.
That said, if arbitration is successful and everything goes under the XJT contract, that would mean some significant QOL increases for ASA and SKW groups in addition to knocking whipsaw out of the park.

First, I must say, I thought this couldn't happen based purely on the fact that it was almost common knowledge! However, as one of many SkyWesters who would definitely like to see one list, welcome aboard

C'mon guys this all comes as a big surprise to me. I don't really follow rumors too much and never even heard anything about this coming. One thing is inevitable, that Atlantic Southeast and ExpressJet are going to have to come to terms. I guess the hardest obstacle is going to be getting the pilot groups to come to terms. Some are going to have to make sacrifices and some are going to make out on the deal. I haven't a clue how the two contracts compare.
What carriers does ExpressJet fly for? What kinds of aircraft do they use? In our current position we are sister company to Skywest Airlines and owned by Skywest Inc. The Title to the announcement on the company page states that Atlantic Southeast is to acuire all of XJT Holdings. So does that mean that XJT will no longer exist and will be called ExpressJet? Honestly please don't be insulted. I have just never really understood how these things worked.
In any case it will be nice to be sharing the sky with you fellow XJTers. Looking forward to working with you.
